The Undergraduate Enrollment Marketing and Communications Team is a hybrid marketing and communications team which blends traditional and digital marketing efforts with a focus on communications. The team is made up of experts in skill areas such as: marketing, communication, analytics, strategy. We are an agile and flexible team that aims to enable better storytelling by stronger reporting and strategic analysis of our marketing and communications efforts.
Reporting to the Senior Director, the Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the work in the traditional marketing realm, focused on the undergraduate day program, including but not limited to: complex direct mail campaigns including tight integration with digital, marketing collateral, print advertising efforts, event marketing, and market research and content strategy efforts. In addition, this role will collaborate, support, and assist many of the daily activities and initiatives within the Undergraduate Enrollment Marketing and Communications unit including both digital and communications efforts regarding email, social media, branding, communications, and web efforts.
The Marketing Manager is responsible for creating, deploying, tracking and measuring marketing strategies for undergraduate day program in support of enrollment management strategy and across multiples colleges within Northeastern University. Strategies must drive and support annual enrollment goals, increase awareness and contribute to the overall success of Northeastern University. The Marketing Manager works in collaboration with the Senior Director of Marketing and Communications and team, the Enrollment Marketing and Communications Creative Team, the Undergraduate Admissions team, the Financial Services Team, and the academic teams to meet goals for assigned projects and portfolios.
The Marketing Manager will also be responsible for managing such functions as fulfillment logistics and daily activity, marketing material inventory management and internal distribution, managing relationships with key print and production vendors, and editorial calendar research.
The Marketing Manager will work to establish positive relationships and collaborate with others internally and externally in various departments, to provide targeted marketing and communication strategic insight in order to support the goals of Enrollment Management and Undergraduate Admissions. Consultative nature, with proven track record of using data to answer business questions. Excellent communication and presentation skills to present information and data to different constituents. This position requires a unique blend of marketing background, combined with the ability to develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, excellent project management and presentation skills.
A bachelor's degree is required along with 6-7 years of significant experience in developing, implementing, tracking/analyzing strategic marketing campaigns. Experience in a marketing field or department required. Higher education experience a plus. Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of marketing strategies.
Flexible, creative thinker open to new ideas and changing priorities within a fast-paced organization. Strong project management skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to think and act both analytically and strategically—analyze and interpret data to support the assessment of marketing campaigns is critical.
Experience working with a marketing automation tool and customer relationship management system (CRM) a plus. Experience in Google Analytics, content management systems, social platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, Reddit, etc.), social analytics (Hootsuite, Social Studio, etc.) are also a plus. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and InDesign a plus.
