HIDA is seeking a Director of Marketing! This position requires a leader with strong interpersonal skills, exceptional marketing acumen, and business savvy. A track record of delivering marketing results while managing a fast paced, detail-intensive creative process is critically important. The Director of Marketing develops and executes targeted marketing strategies to promote and grow HIDA revenue generating programs such as membership, events, and market research. The marketing department also facilitates content deliverables such as government/public affairs infographics used in advocacy communications.
This position manages a team of 3 three professionals: Senior Manager, Creative Services, Marketing Manager, and the Website/Digital Marketing Manager plus a marketing agency and other contractors. The ability to work collaboratively and lead in a cross-functional environment will be key to your success in this role.
The Health Industry Distributors Association (HIDA) is the trade association representing medical products distributors. HIDA members deliver essential medical products such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the nation’s hospitals, nursing homes, laboratories, home care, and physician practices. HIDA is a leading voice on matters important to the healthcare distribution industry as well as the healthcare supply chain as a whole. HIDA offices are located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia and operates on a flexible 3 days in-office, 2 days remote schedule.
This position provides an exciting career opportunity to contribute directly to HIDA’s growth. This position reports to the President & CEO and interfaces with internal peers in events, education, membership, and communications.
Essential Responsibilities: Marketing 1. Oversees development and implementation of targeted and effective marketing plans and strategies to grow revenue from events, products, and services and membership. 2. Collaborates with internal customers to set and achieve promotional and programmatic budgets and goals. 3. Oversees an efficient design and production process to develop marketing collateral such as brochures, infographics, flyers, social media, e-mail promotions, and electronic and print advertising. 4. Integrates omni-channel marketing approaches to communicate the value of HIDA to members and prospects. 5. Supports Healthcare Distribution magazine to communicate the value of HIDA’s content to member executives. 6. Leads weekly marketing production meetings and provides prioritization for marketing projects. 7. Selects and supervises external vendors to provide services such as printing, mailing, production, copy writing, and design as needed. 8. Maintains HIDA’s brand image in all marketing and promotions. 9. Manages social media outreach and web presence for promotional and content delivery purposes. 10. Design reports and analytics to measure effectiveness of marketing efforts. 11. Oversees booth design and development.
Budgeting 1. Responsible for developing and managing marketing budgets to achieve member participation and engagement goals.
Database Management 1. Oversees the development and maintenance of HIDA’s database to effectively track membership, contacts, prospects, sales, and communications. 2. Manages, communicates and provides weekly guidance to outside vendors to maintain and develop the database, update reports for HIDA staff, and implement improvements and upgrades 3. Responsible for managing service tickets with database development vendors to track and resolve service issues or improvements in a timely manner. 4. Oversee registration set up for all events in the database and resolve registration issues as they appear. 5. Keep iMIS database current with upgrades as needed.
