The Marketing & Communications team (M&C) leads marketing strategy for the School and supports dozens of marketing or communications staff in other departments.
We are seeking a detail-oriented website strategy expert who is passionate about web content management systems (CMS), digital design systems, user experience, and marketing technology. This position will play a vital role – providing internal clients (academic programs, faculty research, and School-wide initiatives) with expertise on how to build and manage successful websites. The ideal candidate will love working with people, thinking strategically, and problem solving. Qualified candidates will have hands-on experience managing large websites, migrating content to a new CMS, and optimizing website performance.
Supporting the Director of Digital Marketing Strategy, the Assistant Director, Web Strategy will leverage their experience and judgement to establish new processes as HBS transitions to a new brand identity, new web design system, and new content management system (Contentful). Taking direction from our design team, IT, and the website owners, they will help optimize site experience while ensuring content meets HBS brand standards. This role will manage multiple marketing platforms, related technology integrations, and offer one-on-one training and support for tools during business hours.
Position Description
Responsibilities include:
Lead website strategy roadmap, content migration projects, and performance optimization.
Work with the Director, Digital Marketing Strategy to shape the marketing technology strategy.
Triage client requests (ServiceNow), respond to questions, and troubleshoot technical issues.
Create new websites and pages using CMS and design system templates (no coding). Act as project manager for SEO, accessibility, and related website updates.
