- Digital Marketing Specialist
Description
John Tillman Company, a division of Bunzl, is seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist for our office in Cerritos, CA. John Tillman Company was founded in 1928 and is the leading manufacturer and supplier of welding protective products in the United States. The Digital MarketingSpecialist will be strategic and hands-on, driving our organic search presence, optimizing our digital content, and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns. This role is ideal for someone with proven SEO expertise who wants to make an immediate impact at an established B2B manufacturer.
This role will work closely with our Director of Marketing to develop and execute digital strategies that support our Sales team and distributor partners. As we expand our digital presence across multiple channels, experience with e-commerce marketplaces is a strong plus.

What You'll Actually Do:
SEO & Website
- Develop and implement SEO strategy to improve organic search rankings for target keywords
- Optimize website content, product pages, and blog posts for search engines and users
- Conduct keyword research and competitive analysis
- Track rankings, traffic, and conversions; report on SEO performance
- Manage WordPress website content updates, optimization, and basic troubleshooting
Email & Campaign Marketing
- Create and execute email marketing campaigns using our marketing automation platform
- Build and optimize automated email workflows (welcome series, nurture campaigns, re-engagement)
- Segment audiences and personalize messaging based on customer data
- A/B test subject lines, content, and CTAs to improve performance
- Collaborate with sales on lead nurturing campaigns
Digital Channel Management
- Support expansion into new digital sales channels and marketplaces
- Optimize product content and listings across multiple platforms
- Monitor performance metrics and identify growth opportunities
- Coordinate with external partners and agencies as needed
- Stay current on e-commerce and marketplace best practices
Content & Social Media
- Write and optimize content for website, blog, product pages, and email
- Manage social media content calendar and posting schedule
- Create social media content that drives engagement and brand awareness
- Work with external designers/contractors on visual assets as needed
Analytics & Reporting
- Track campaign performance using Google Analytics and marketing platforms
- Generate regular reports on key metrics (traffic, rankings, conversions, email performance)
- Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis
- Support trade show and promotional campaign tracking
Requirements:
- 5-7 years' digital marketing experience with demonstrated SEO results
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field preferred.
- Proven track record improving organic search rankings
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, or similar)
- Strong Google Analytics skills - you can navigate reports and extract insights
- Experience with marketing automation platforms (ActiveCampaign, HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar)
- WordPress or similar CMS experience - you're comfortable managing content, making updates, and doing basic optimization
- Excellent writing and content optimization skills
- Analytical mindset - you make data-driven decisions
- Self-starter who can work independently with strategic direction
Preferred:
- Amazon Seller Central, Vendor Central, or other marketplace experience (Walmart.com, Shopify, eBay)
- Understanding of e-commerce marketplaces and how optimization differs across platforms
- B2B marketing experience (industrial, manufacturing, or distribution experience a plus)
- Experience marketing technical products or products with specifications/certifications
- Understanding of distributor channel dynamics
- Familiarity with using AI tools to improve marketing efficiency
Tillman CA salary range $75K - 90K based on experience, education, and geographic location.
