Job Description
Description of Job Duty:
The Multimedia Designer plans, creates, produces, and manages visual, digital, and physical media assets and content that support recruitment, student success, research visibility, industry partnerships, donor engagement, and institutional branding for the College of Engineering and its departments and centers. This role blends creative execution, technical production, print expertise, web management, and project management across multiple communication platforms and audiences.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Lead the design and production of all print and physical media for the College of Engineering, including undergraduate and graduate recruitment brochures; academic program sheets and fact sheets; annual and impact reports and accreditation-support materials; stewardship pieces supporting donor development; event templates and materials; banners, displays, wayfinding signage, and promo items; and a wide range of promotional items such as posters, flyers, postcards, rack cards, and handouts. Design and produce digital graphics and multimedia including web and email graphics, digital signage and display content, social media graphics and posts, web-based publications, icons, infographics, logos, motion graphics, short animations, and video overlays supporting recruitment campaigns, academic program promotion, research and lab highlights, faculty and student profiles, donor recognition and stewardship initiatives. In collaboration with the university's Office of Communications and Marketing and college content developers, update and maintain College of Engineering webpage content using the university's content management system, including program pages, newsroom, event pages, and landing pages, ensuring web content and graphics align with college and university brand standards and accessibility compliance. Manage and monitor college social media channels, including scheduling and creating posts, designing platform-specific visuals and posts for social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) that support recruitment, donor development, research, and student-focused campaigns and announcements. Manage projects from intake through final delivery, including setting timelines, coordinating approvals, preparing files for print or digital delivery, and ensuring deadlines are met across multiple stakeholders while utilizing industry-standard tools and workflows to ensure efficient collaboration, file integrity, and high-quality, print- ready outputs aligned with institutional standards, as well as maintaining organized digital asset libraries and brand resources ensuring version control, consistent use of logos, templates, photography, and typography across the College of Engineering.

Work Hours:
Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary:
Commensurate with education and experience. Level P3, Grade 11.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in multimedia design, graphic design, visual communication, digital media, interactive design, or a closely related field. Additional formal or on-the-job training in digital communications, print production, typography and layout systems, brand and identity systems, and marketing communications. Four years of related professional experience creating integrated visual communication across multiple platforms and media types, leading end-to-end creative projects, and developing and executing creative concepts using industry tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud/Canva/web CMS, social media tools, and project management tools. Portfolio required.
