- Senior Marketing Manager
Description
As Senior Marketing Manager, you will lead integrated marketing campaigns that support visitation, education, and philanthropy. You’ll partner directly with the VP of Marketing Communications to build systems, strengthen cross-departmental collaboration, and mentor junior team members as the team grows.
This is an opportunity to do meaningful work at one of America’s most iconic historic sites while developing as a strategic leader in the nonprofit marketing space.
What You'll Own
Strategic Campaign Leadership
Lead end-to-end development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across the Foundation's Visit, Learn, and Give pillars
Manage editorial calendars and campaign strategies that drive measurable audience growth and engagement
Serve as project lead for major institutional initiatives, coordinating efforts across departments
Help define team priorities and future structure in partnership with the VP
Content & Digital Execution
Oversee content creation and deployment across email, social, web, and paid channels
Ensure brand consistency and alignment in partnership with Development, Guest Services, Civic Engagement and the NPS
Manage relationships with creative vendors and freelancers to expand capacity and ensure quality
Operations & Performance
Lead quarterly planning meetings and event-specific “Tiger Teams”
Build and refine marketing operations systems, timelines, and documentation
Track performance and campaign ROI; translate insights into action
Storytelling & Growth
Support positioning Gettysburg’s story in modern civic, cultural, and educational conversations
Explore opportunities for strategic partnerships, storytelling innovation, and thought leadership
Requirements
Required Experience & Skills
7–10 years in marketing, communications, or content strategy, with increasing responsibility
Proven experience leading campaigns, managing projects, and collaborating across functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong editorial judgment
Experience building content calendars, campaign workflows, and measurable frameworks
Alignment with mission-driven work; familiarity with nonprofit, cultural, or educational sectors
Preferred Qualifications
Background in museums, public history, or cultural institutions
Experience working with or alongside public sector partners (e.g., National Park Service)
Fluency with digital tools (e.g., WordPress, Constant Contact, Mailchimp, Canva, Google Analytics, Meta tools)
Experience mentoring junior team members or leading small teams
