ASCD is seeking a dynamic Email Marketing Manager to join the marketing team. The Email Marketing Manager will be responsible for the strategic direction, execution, and measurement of campaigns through emails. The Email Marketing Manager supports brand and product awareness and drives ecommerce growth for all ASCD programs, products and services including membership, books, online courses, live events, consulting services, and other digital products. This role is also responsible for audience development by growing our email newsletter lists and webinar registrations. Our ideal candidate is creative and diligent, he or she will take ownership of the channels they manage and bring new ideas for growth and optimization.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development and implementation of email marketing strategy that supports ASCD's programs, products, and services.
Design, write, build, test, and deploy email campaigns and marketing automation drip and nurturing workflows. Perform A/B testing on email and landing pages to optimize campaign efficiency.
Support audience development by focusing on growing ASCD's email newsletter lists (ASCD SmartBrief and ASCD Express) and webinar program.
Monitor and analyze channel performance including ecommerce sales, offline sales, ROI, conversion rates, and engagement metrics.
Champion continuous advancement of our email features and capabilities including targeting, personalization, template development in collaboration with multiple stakeholders: development teams, designers, business teams and more.
Stay current with best practices, strategies, and industry standards related to email.
Coordinate and traffic internal and third-party ASCD.org advertising within the Marketing group and through our partner agency reseller, monitor campaign performance, and maintain relationship with ad network.
Manage digital marketing budget and optimize spending and campaign performance to maximize returns on marketing investment.
Support the Marketing Managers with other projects as assigned.
A four-year college degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.
Advanced knowledge of email best practices, success metrics, and A/B testing. Experience using marketing automation system and creating email workflows.
Expertise in HTML and CSS for email.
Conversion optimization and landing page testing using tools such as Adobe Test & Target, Optimizely, and Crazy Egg.
Understanding of direct response marketing and database functionality for list development and segmentation.
Working knowledge of ecommerce.
Strong analytical skills and experience with reporting and data analysis; ability to manage a marketing budget.
Working knowledge of digital advertising fundamentals including creative development, budgeting, keyword and segment targeting, bid types, and reporting.
Working knowledge of basic principles of usability and functionality for various types of digital media and user-friendly web technologies, user interfaces, and design hierarchy is essential.

5 years of email marketing experience including hands-on experience.
Experience with online marketing platforms and marketing automation tools.
Experience creating and monitoring campaigns in Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Experience with web and email analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and Litmus.
Copywriting experience a plus.
