Marketing Assistant, Hylton Performing Arts Center
George Mason University’s Hylton Performing Arts Center seeks qualified candidates for the Marketing Assistant position. The Marketing Assistant is responsible for assisting with the execution of the Hylton Center's marketing strategy for ticket sales, publicity, and rentals of the facility. This position is also responsible for the execution of marketing strategy and communications for the Veterans and the Arts Initiative.
Coordinate grassroots marketing efforts to expand visibility and increase attendance and ticket sales for Hylton Center programming;
Work with personnel in the Veterans and the Arts Initiative and marketing staff to develop and execute marketing materials and strategies for these programs;
Coordinate distribution of printed materials in the community;
Assist with coordinating scheduling and staffing of Hylton Center tables and booths at community fairs and events;
Assist with content collection and posting on Hylton Center social media channels; and
Assist with writing and editing copy and communications to promote the events and programs of the Hylton Center.
Some arts and/or marketing experience;
Strong writing and editing skills;
Fluency in MS Office;
Ability to independently manage a project; and
Understanding of social media for an organization, with demonstrable experience with Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related area or equivalent in significant, relevant experience;
Experience with an email marketing product such as Constant Contact or Emma;
Adobe Creative Suite experience; and
Familiarity with the arts and entertainment landscape in Prince William County and Northern Virginia.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
