The Membership and Marketing Manager is responsible for helping to grow, maintain and communicate with a network of veterinary professionals. The manager is responsible for managing plans, programs, services and collateral in support of TVMA. Our 2018-2023 Strategic Plan emphasizes membership growth, engagement and communication and this role includes heavy membership development and strong marketing to tackle these strategic initiatives. Duties Related to Membership
To enhance the overall member experience and grow the membership, the Manager will work with the Associate Director to:
Execute membership plan as it relates to member retention. Fully responsible for overseeing the new member onboarding process.
Execute membership plan as relates to recruitment and identify recruitment opportunities at veterinary related events.
Organize communications to members via mailings, electronic communication, website and social media vehicles.
Organize membership content for websites, newsletters, publications, and other promotional materials.
Serve as a staff liaison to the Membership and Industry Advisory Committees.
Assist, attend and interact with members at hosted events, including TVMA Annual Conference and Expo, Southwest Veterinary Symposium, local marketing events and special programs. Some travel may be required.
Duties Related to Member Services
To develop and execute member services portfolio, duties include but are not limited to:
Development and manage a portfolio of member programs and services. Based on member feedback, recommend new products and services.
Organize communications and marketing materials to members via mailings, electronic communication, website and social media vehicles as relates to member benefits.
Duties Related to Marketing and Communications
In conjunction with Associate Director and Director of Meetings and Education, help develop, manage and execute marketing plans and materials for membership and events:
Maintain annual marketing plan/calendar for membership and the annual conference and assist in implementation of marketing efforts
Assist with content and design of collateral material, including print and digital
Plan and distribute monthly e-newsletter and other communications
Assist with managing association’s social media efforts, generating content from marketing and communications material
Track and analyze marketing and communications activities and outreach efforts
Duties Related to Database Maintenance and Integrity
Perform the following duties as they relate to database maintenance and integrity:
Membership Database –
Input and organize content as it applies to new member information, member involvement, and creating new memberships.
Plan, schedule and conduct regular data quality assessments and clean-up
Produce and develop reports to facilitate targeted membership statistics, create list for directors, etc.
Assist members in navigating membership database and online member login portal.
Recommend methods for maintaining the integrity of member information
Membership Renewals – Create membership dues renewal invoices and assist with processing payments during the busy June-July time frame.
Directory – Responsible for the annual member directory project, working with staff and the publisher to get all materials together to meet publication deadline.
Qualifications and Requirements:
At least five (5) years experience in a responsible office environment and demonstrated general office skills, preferably in an association
Proficiency in use of a computer, standard office equipment, MS Word, Excel and related computer application programs
Experience with a relational database, marketing and social media
Effective and friendly communicator, high energy, detail orientated, well-organized with ability to multi-task.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet established deadlines
Team player who works well with staff, members and volunteers
Availability to work some evenings and weekends
This position receives direct supervision from the Associate Director and indirect supervision from the Executive Director and has authority necessary to perform all actions required of the job as described herein.
