Marketing and Communications Coordinator
George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services, invites applications for the position of Marketing and Communications Coordinator. George Mason University's College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) prepares students to become leaders and shape the public's health through academic excellence, professional service, and innovative practice and research initiatives. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work primarily on digital marketing and project management for the College of Health and Human Services. This position will focus on content development, email marketing, website/SEO, social media operations and strategy, and video content. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will also assist with reporting/metrics and managing the daily communication and marketing operations.
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator has responsibilities in the following areas:
Project Management: Maintain Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) project tracking tools and manage OMC planning calendar; assist in managing the operations of a busy department. Ability to master and maintain project management database as required.
Digital Marketing: Help manage OMC digital channels in support of College marketing and communications goals. Passion for email marketing best practices and learning email marketing platform are must-haves in the role. Assist with newsletter development, email marketing, website/SEO, social media strategy, and video content.
Content Development: Work with OMC to develop and manage content, support content development for the Annual Report and other pieces as required.
Reporting and Metrics: Work with OMC team to gather and disseminate data on a regularly scheduled basis.
A bachelor's degree and demonstrated experience in communications and/or marketing (2+ years preferred), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Proficient in working in Microsoft applications; Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Attention to detail and deadlines.
Excellent oral and written communication.
Ability to manage multiple priorities.
Ability to master new tools and skills to track and provide project status and metrics.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop cohesive working relationships with internal and external clients.
Ability to process suggestions, corrections, and feedback constructively and professionally.
Flexibility to adapt to change.
Willingness to learn and develop new skill sets as applicable.
Demonstrated use of project management and event management tools.
Technical and organizational skills to track and provide project deployment and effectiveness updates.
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze web, digital and social metrics.
Proven experience developing content and programs representing the interests of diverse stakeholders, including students
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platform and project management software.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
