Leads priority strategic communications initiatives across the HAA, including, but not limited to driving alumni awareness of and engagement with Harvard Clubs and Shared Interest Groups, directing marketing strategy for College Engagement initiatives including the Crimson Society and Class Report outreach, and partnering with HAA teams to support strategic engagement opportunities across each department.
Oversees communications strategy and execution for all marquee events and programs and select University partnership initiatives, including, but not limited to Presidential event campaigns, networking events, webinars, and faculty programming. With the Assistant Director, Engagement Marketing, oversees more than 30 full-scale, data-driven digital marketing campaigns annually driving online engagement, event attendance, and program participation across diverse audiences. Occasionally directly develops and executes high level campaigns with multiple stakeholders.
Oversees digital strategy for large-scale broadcast email communications to University-wide alumni community, including HAA eVENTS the HAA's monthly events communications and the Harvard Alumni Gazette, the HAA's monthly news communication - periodically building in new and innovative personalization and segmentation strategies, and managing regular redesigns and content updates to drive engagement.
In partnership with volunteer managers throughout the HAA, leads strategy to develop best marketing practices materials and supports for alumni volunteers and develops new resources to empower volunteers in their own marketing and outreach.
Develops integrated data and analytics strategy for HAA communications including event and program campaigns, broadcast newsletters, partner campaigns, and more; establishes benchmarks for all marketing programs; responsible for conceptualizing and integrating brand personas into marketing.
Throughout each year, manages a variety of marketing campaigns for a variety of Club and SIG events, including support for the Harvard Club of NYC, Harvard Club of Boston, Harvard Business School Club of NYC, and others—working directly with volunteers to develop strategy and oversees execution of final campaign.
Occasionally supports Communications Creative Services projects for the Engagement Marketing team or participates in some project planning elements for other teams.
Directly oversees the work of the Assistant Director, Engagement Marketing and supervises some aspects of the Coordinator, Engagement Marketing's work.
Consults across the HAA on marketing and communications best practices
Identifies emerging industry trends to suggest for potential implementation;
Stays up to date on current Ivy+ and marketing/communications best practices;
Represents the HAA and/or Engagement Marketing team at internal and external conferences and presentations.
Primary HAA point of contact for major website updates and redesigns, working with product owners to implement strategic approaches to web content.
Manages special projects across the HAA that require communications and marketing expertise.

Minimum 7 years' experience in marketing and communications or related transferable experience.
Demonstrated success using digital resources to drive engagement.
Substantial experience developing and supporting strategic partnerships in a complex organization to positive results.
Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to manage large-scale marketing-related projects and teams in large and complex organizations.

Experience with marketing automation or email platforms highly desirable.
