Job Summary/Basic Function: Lamar University is seeking a social media and digital marketing manager to join the Marketing Communications team. The social media and digital marketing manager will be responsible for digital marketing content engagement and demand generation including building, managing and regularly optimizing digital marketing campaigns as well as managing all social media for the university accounts. While operationally and strategically supporting all digital initiatives, the person in this role will understand the big picture on how technology can be leveraged to support university and aligned marketing communications goals. The ideal candidate will oversee the methodology, testing, analysis and reporting of digital campaign performance and communication of results along with the administering of university's social media marketing and advertising across all social and digital platforms. The social media and digital marketing manager will report to the associate director of marketing while maintaining a close relationship with the Office of Management Information and Analysis.
Work closely with the associate director of marketing to support brand-level market research, reporting and insights
Support digital marketing strategy with market research, a/b testing, target research and segmentation, digital visibility, etc.
Collaborate with a cross-functional marketing team to build and execute digital campaigns
Measure and report on performance of digital marketing campaigns
Aggregate, analyze, and report on marketing data for a variety of sources including email marketing, web traffic, social media and more
Create and deliver reports using a variety of platforms including: Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Social listening and scheduling platforms, media monitoring platforms etc.
Assist with the set up and optimization of ad campaigns (Adwords, Facebook) to drive high engagement and conversions
Perform benchmark analysis, survey research, primary analysis, segmentation and other market research techniques as required.
Provide support with campaign tracking URLs as needed
Research and develop strategies to engage the Lamar University community and public through social media platforms
Monitor social media usage at Lamar University by departments and organizations
Maintain and enforce the university's social media policy
Analyze social media trends and track new technologies
Coordinate and support other divisions, departments and colleges in their implementation of social media initiatives and offer training as required
Write stories for publication online and other mediums as needed
Implement and manage a social media street team made up of students and staff
Minimum Qualifications: Requirements: 1 or more years marketing experience Bachelors degree in marketing/communications-related field High degree of individual initiative while still thriving in a team environment Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while being able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines Strong desire to learn, grow and excel at all times Critical thinker and problem-solver Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze data with an aptitude for data-driven recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications: Passion for digital and driven by curiosity Understanding of the digital marketing fundamentals and methodologies Expert level knowledge of Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc. Experience with tools like Data Studio, Google Analytics, and Google Tag Manager to manage and deliver strong campaigns and report on key insights for performance improvement Working knowledge of Google Analytics and Facebook Analytics tools. Above average experience using social media advertising platforms Experience with photography, videography and graphic design Experience with Adobe Creative Suite programs like Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Premiere Pro.
