Detailed Job Description The Auxiliary Services marketing department is seeking an assistant director of marketing to lead the planning and execution of marketing initiatives for the department. This person will be responsible for content creation, social media strategy, and marketing plan development. A key component of this role is developing relationships with multiple departments, increasing brand awareness, and driving revenue gains. Management of data collection and analysis of marketing tactics and channels will be critical for decision making. This person will supervise and provide direction to student employees.
The assistant director of marketing will work in a highly-collaborative environment and be encouraged to generate new ideas that will continue to elevate the customer experience. The individual will work under the direct supervision of the director of strategic marketing and support Auxiliary Services and the Finance and Administration division.
Key responsibilities include:
Develop and oversee marketing and advertising initiatives, social strategy, and promote programs, services, promotions, and events while driving cross-functional collaboration across the department and ensure all marketing and communications are consistent with the university's communications and branding goals and objectives.
Create and implement new content and re-post content and schedule work for digital communications, publications, advertising, emails, and marketing materials to drive exposure, influence, and engagement.
Conduct and measure promotions to ensure that marketing efforts are increasing sales, customer awareness, and revenue goals within the marketing budget. Use a variety of data points (point of sale system, inventory system, digital analytics, etc) to drive data insights.
Conduct and measure digital analytics and update and create tracking reports to measure the success of each campaign, project, and program.
Ensure effective delivery of information, engagement with audiences, and excellent customer service for those who use user-generated sites to seek information through listening and data analysis.
Conduct SWOT analysis and translate into marketing plans and campaigns, work with department assigned leaders on implementation plans. Manage the workflow, setting priorities, and timelines
Manage and contribute to the planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of websites.
Assist with coordinating and organizing events aligned with marketing plans. Attend events to ensure proper execution of intended initiatives, which may include but not limited to meeting and greeting customers, facilitating contests and promotions, taking photographs, issuing reports on the progress of the event, and measuring the event's effectiveness.
Manage assigned projects and collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions and implement recommendations.
Manage and train student employees.

Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in marketing, advertising, business management, communication, or related field
3-5 years of experience in marketing, advertising, and/or related field
Experience with analyzing data, finding trends, and providing insight and recommendations
Experience executing social media strategy and managing marketing campaigns
Experience with digital marketing, search engine optimization, and google analytics
Experience with product or service branding
Knowledge of project management
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in the English language, including spelling, grammar, and creative writing
