The faculty of the Business Minor program at The University of the South, Sewanee, TN, invites applications for a one-course Lecturer position for the 2021 Advent semester, commencing August 24, 2021, and ending December 8, 2021, with the possibility of an extension of position for the Easter semester of 2022.
For the 2021 Advent semester, the successful candidate will teach a single class on the University’s campus in Sewanee, Tennessee, which meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm (Central Time).
The course is listed in the University course catalog as BUSI 217, Introduction to Marketing. This course introduces students to the business of marketing both conceptually and as a profession. Study and activities include understanding the strategic marketing process, planning and research, launching new products, distribution, promotion, and pricing. While studying and examining contemporary online and offline marketing methods, the instructor should also analyze landmark marketing case studies to understand how key decisions impact outcomes and influence consumer purchasing behavior.
Applicants must have at least a Master-level degree in Marketing from an accredited academic institution. In addition to the required academic qualifications, applicants having extensive “real world"-based experience in marketing, either digital and/or nondigital, and demonstrated success in teaching are highly sought.
