The incumbent will be a key member of a cross functional team devoted to supporting the the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, and other areas as required.
Reporting to our Associate Director, Marketing & Communications, you will:
Oversee and execute content updates related to the Departments of Medicine and Surgery, including physician profiles, disease-specific pages, patient-facing programs and other web content as needed.
Meet regularly with key stakeholders on clinical teams and liaise with counterparts in Medicine, Surgery, Compliance, Development, Hospital Administration and others to ensure all content is accurate and up to date.
Be proactive in developing and updating content. Implement a regular cadence, format, and content-planning process for physician profile pages, disease guides and other web content as assigned.
Possesses and continually develops digital/web/technology/software skills related to writing and editing, including the ability to produce web stories in MSKs content management system.
Write Marketing & Communications materials as needed, including talking points for media appearances, communications related to special events and programming, content for social media, presentations, emails, and other items as needed.
Support the Associate Director with project management assistance on assigned projects for the Departments of Medicine and Surgery or other priority areas.
Liaise with faculty and clinical staff to anticipate and stay well-informed of any communications needs or emerging priorities in key areas of focus.
Measure and report on content effectiveness as it pertains to the goals of the Departments of Medicine and Surgery.
2-5+ years of experience in health writing or communications ideally with experience in-house at healthcare, research, or life sciences institutions; and/or in media.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Familiarity with SEO and strong copy-editing skills preferred.
The ability to present complex subject matter in clear, understandable terms.
A collaborative spirit, solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to communicate with multiple levels of leadership and various stakeholders with differing priorities.
The ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and deliver work on deadline.
Availability to meet with faculty and other stakeholders outside normal business hours, including the potential for early morning meetings.
Upon being selected for an interview with the M&C team, you may be required to share any writing samples, portfolio's, e-journals, etc.
