This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans for the entire organization to attract prospects and retain existing clients, resulting in revenue generation. More specifically, this role supports driving advocacy for the practice, increasing client and employee engagement, and ensuring the marketability of the business. The Marketing Director will be the key driver of continued brand development and will provide internal support to our Advisors to develop unique marketing plans and event schedules. This role is responsible for positioning the practice to the outside world by maintaining a consistent social media presence and forming strategic partnerships with local and nationwide publications. Finally, the individual in this role is responsible for ensuring the practice is being maintained and supported within the Ameriprise Financial compliance guidelines and those outlined by the Marketing Department Head.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Marketing:
Plan and organize marketing functions and operations (product development, branding, communications etc.), and ensure they project the company's unique "voice".
Define marketing strategies to support the company's overall strategies and objectives.
Design and coordinate promotional campaigns, PR and other marketing efforts across channels (digital, press etc.); manage all social media in order to promote the business.
Develop a feasible marketing plan for the department and oversee its day-to-day implementation.
Use identifiable and proven gifting strategies for client and employee appreciation to celebrate milestones in clients' and employees' lives.
Liaise with other departments to guide a unified approach to client service, and client experience.
Create a solid network of strategic partnerships.
Build and manage a highly efficient team of marketing support, internal and external.
"Listen" to the trends of the market and direct the market research efforts of the Practice.
Maintain Websites - LinkedIn, AMPF, Facebook, etc., including social media.
Support advisory team with personal marketing initiatives and customized event plans via check-ins and goal setting.
Lead weekly marketing department meetings.
Utilize Marketing On Demand, Ameriprise CRM, and other FinTech for drip marketing.
Lead brand development and execution
Liaise with media organizations and advertising agencies.
Event management: ??? Design and develop 12-month event strategy to include:
12-month calendar of activities (events, seminars, touches, etc.).
Maintain CRM with the client 'HIT' list for target clients/referral relationships (hobbies, interests, etc.).
Implement marketing plan and calendar of activities.
Coordinate and execute educational seminars and appreciation events:
This includes all event coordination and management. This includes all internal team event coordination and management.
Coordinate and execute 'touches' as defined.
Manage all wholesaler reimbursement processes and compliance procedures
Develop and implement client acquisition and client appreciation tracking tool: o Design and document a tracking tool that allows all prospects to be tracked (front and back end of activities).
Continue refinement of CRM tracking for measuring results of all activities (i.e. were activities successful, should they be done again, what costs were involved and wholesaler tracking).
Generate referrals through fun, repeatable, and highly marketed events.
Drive attendance for events and activities.
Design, coordinate and run all staff training/educational and fun events.
Manage the delivery of all client and employee appreciation gifts and cards (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.), and review and keep track of all such related expenses.
Maintain established budget guidelines as determined by the Advisor.
Coordinate all client and prospect events.
Manage charitable relations in connection with events.
Supervise marketing interns and manage Office Awareness Marketing.
Miscellaneous initiatives/communications as necessary related to plan/strategy.
For Success in this Role- Expert Level In:
Proven experience in a similar role within the financial services industry.
Demonstrable experience in developing efficient strategies and business plans for all marketing aspects (branding, brand promotion, event management, etc.)
Solid understanding of market research and data analysis methods.
Able to apply marketing techniques over digital (e.g. social media) and non-digital (e.g. press) channels.
An understanding of different business disciplines (financial planning, finance etc.)
The ability to work independently.
Professional collaboration skills with the Advisor.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; 5+ years related

Represent the practice with a positive, upbeat attitude.
Must be knowledgeable about the hospitality industry and able to negotiate with vendors.
Demonstrate positive attitude and sincere willingness to constantly learn and grow.
This position may require some amount of travel.
