Position Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for developing digital communications including but not limited to website, social media, additional digital communication arenas. Responsibilities include website design, social media design and development, or producing communications or instruction using the web, audio, video, and other digital media, which may involve content creation, designing, production and / or programming.
Salary Range:
Annual Rate Minimum $66,300.00 Midpoint $96,900.00 Maximum $127,500.00

MKTG: Develops and edits feature and spotlight stories for UCI Health and School of Medicine, department, divisions and institutes home pages. Identifies and effectively promotes UC Irvine Healthcare and School of Medicine services, projects, events, classes, and other newsworthy information through the Web site. 25%
Independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function of digital communication; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions. Communicates with Information Services personnel to coordinate website priorities and to achieve necessary system requirements. 25%
Demonstrates a full understanding of industry practices and organization policies and procedures. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Evaluates the effectiveness of current digital design and content against the strategic initiatives and makes recommendations for modifications 25%
Produces design and layout for a variety of web applications, social media applications, as well as information architecture. Ensure search engine optimization; and develop social media platforms. Meets and consults with clients on a variety of digital communications projects including moderately complex assignments; develops, presents, and recommends web content, site architecture and visual material. Accountable for ensuring technical accuracy and understandability of web content. Maintains currency with emerging and state-of-the-art technical and other web-related equipment, requirements and developments (for example, accessibility issues) and recommends and as directed, takes action to ensure compliance. 25%

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, Marketing or other related field and/or equivalent combination of education and years of directly related work experience
- At least 2 years working knowledge of social media vehicles and tools as well as strong grasp of social media industry trends and best practices
- Understanding and experience with online metrics and analytics tools such as Google Analytics and/or WebTrends to determine online marketing and social media campaign effectiveness
- Must have excellent written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization
- Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
- Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
- Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
- Creative problem solving skills
- Strong time and project management skills and comfortable with deadlines
- Self-motivated and able to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Skill with Microsoft Office products, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of HTML
- Knowledge of Dreamweaver, FrontPage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Marketing, English, Journalism or similar degree program
