This position serves as the communications director for the Anderson Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (ACEI). ACEI conducts multiple programs across campus in support of entrepreneurship and innovation. In coordination with the Haslam College of Business Office of Marketing & PR, the position coordinates the development, production and delivery of all publicity materials; develops media contacts and initiatives; and creates, edits and transforms ACEI content as appropriate for placement across multiple platforms. The position is responsible for directing and facilitating the ACEI multiple public interfaces in the form of web, electronic media, print, media relations, public events production and outreach initiatives. This position develops and implements communication plans, goals and objectives that are consistent with ACEI objectives. The position will manage direct external contractors based on required projects and availability of funds, and it requires close communication on project development and implementation with all ACEI directors. Other responsibilities include implementation and management of innovation and creative engagement and activities that strategically promote interaction with and/or recognition of students, alumni, faculty and other constituents of ACEI.
Develops and manages a vibrant social media and digital marketing presence for the ACEI, deploying social media and and digital monitoring and response strategies, including, but not limited to, current website content and social media outreach.
System administrator for ACEI website - oversees design and development.
Create and manage the production of publications in print and digital formats, such as websites, PDF, marketing brochures and ACEI self-published journals.
Maintain visual media and meet with stakeholders in Business Accelerator via regular visits to UTRF Business Incubator Building.
Provides project management for various ACEI-sponsored business plan competitions, speaker programs, etc.
Provides mentoring for student companies in the areas of communications and social media. Provides vision and planning for student engagement with ACEI faculty team.
Interfaces with development team and coordinates engagements with alumni and supporters.
Preparation of status reports and research of peer and aspirant institution activities in areas of entrepreneurship education, center operations, programming, etc. Preparation of marketing and branding trend analysis and recommendations.
