The Insights Association (IA) protects and creates demand for the evolving Insights and Analytics industry by promoting the indisputable role of insights in driving business impact. The Director, Marketing reports to the CEO, works closely with the VP, Communications and is responsible for the development and execution of an overall brand and marketing strategy supporting the association’s objectives, products and services. This position is also responsible for ensuring the integrity of the Insights Association’s brand across communication channels, and the ideal candidate is a creative, visually focused individual with some graphic design experience.
Develops and manages the brand and marketing strategy for all Insights Association programs and services including its membership, events, certifications, and advocacy work. Once a piece of content is created, the Director, Marketing, will develop the appropriate strategy to market content through various communication channels, including social media, email, podcast, newsletter, advertisement, etc.
Create and manage the Insights Association’s brand identity strategy, including marketing messages, value proposition, identity marks and templates, and a style guide.
Perform marketing activities including brand development, collateral development, advertising, direct mail, web activities, social media coordination and other activities as directed.
Ensure that all brand marketing and communications support marketing plan objectives to retain leadership positioning within the industry.
Create and manage marketing plans for all IA products and services in collaboration with other staff and volunteers.
Work with the VP of Communications on media, press, member relations, and public relations.
Work closely with the IT team and Database administrators to develop and grow our email lists and manage list segmentation based on email engagement behaviors and website interactions.
Build and manage email marketing calendars and workflows.
Manage the relationship with IA’s marketing-related vendors.
Create and manage all marketing budgets alongside other staff, as appropriate.
Evaluate effectiveness of marketing efforts.
Create marketing campaigns and materials for TBA events, products and initiatives
Coordinate and implement all social media efforts
Manage the strategic look and feel of the new IA website and community networking platform to align with other IA branding
Assist in keeping information on the Insights Association’s website current
Serves as Staff Liaison for IA’s Marketing Committee
Degree in Marketing or Communications
5+ years of experience in marketing, public relations or other brand work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to serve a broad audience of internal and external customers
Self-motivated, tenacious problem solver with an ability to both follow directions and work without supervision
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work against tight deadlines
Ability to work well with all levels of staff, members and on occasion, the media
Proficient in Microsoft suite of programs
Graphic design skills, specifically with Adobe Creative Suite, a plus
