The Heart Failure Society of America is seeking a creative and innovative manager to provide oversight on marketing and communications activities and manage processes to help HFSA achieve its strategic goals. The Manager, Marketing and Communications will support the development and execution of campaigns for all HFSA activities including meetings and events, educational programs, patient programs, scientific statements, and more. The ideal candidate has a creative marketing background with an interest in multidimensional marketing campaigns and podcasts. The ideal candidate is eager to jump in and take the lead where needed and has a desire to explore new channels or platforms and bring new ideas to the table to create a greater impact. An ability to manage multiple priorities and balance both independent and collaborative projects are requirements of this role.
Execute and oversee critical marketing campaigns, incorporating relevant channels, platforms, and media, from start to finish, working with MarCom team members, other HFSA staff, and external vendors and consulting firms. This can include creating and editing messages for email, blogs, or social media; managing campaign calendars; designing emails in Real Magnet platform; scheduling or publishing content; creating and coordinating mailing of printed materials
Support production of two podcasts (one monthly, one bi-monthly) from idea creation to post-production and episode release (HFSA utilizes Resonate Recordings for editing and production)
Contribute to Heart Failure Awareness 365 campaign including researching patient-friendly resources and tools related to the monthly theme, drafting blog posts, creating social media posts, etc.
Create graphics for promotional campaigns, and edit marketing collateral and graphics such as meeting agendas, programs, flyers, etc. using graphic design software (Photoshop, Shutterstock editor, InDesign, Illustrator, Canva, etc.)
Assist with the Social Media Catalyst program and committee projects
Develop and coordinate Twitter Chats and other social media engagement activities
Support additional marketing activities including automated email campaigns (membership renewals and cart abandonment campaigns); website editing including assisting on various HFSA virtual platforms; developing and sending press releases; and printing and mailing brochures or other collateral
Assist with HFSA’s advertising program
Oversee work of marketing firm on HF Awareness 365, HF Awareness Week, Annual Scientific Meeting, and Patient and Caregiver Day
Bachelor's degree required
Two (2) to five (5) years of related experience; Knowledge of medical industry a plus
Proficiency with email platforms (especially Real Magnet), social media tools and scheduling platforms
Experience with Drupal and other website content management systems
Skilled in graphic design software such as Photoshop, InDesign, Shutterstock editor, PDF editor, etc.
Ability to create and edit video clips for sound bites, or “Pearls of Wisdom,” is a plus
Knowledge of Google Analytics, Twitter Analytics, and other metrics tools
Ability to rapidly learn new software and platforms; knowledge of Impexium or similar association management membership database
Enthusiasm for trying new things and bringing fresh ideas to the table
Location, Travel and Additional Information
This is a virtual position and affords maximum flexibility for work-life balance. Travel to the Annual Scientific Meeting is required (under suitable conditions). Additional travel may be required for staff retreats or other activities.
