Position Overview The Web Marketing Professional is a member of the Marketing and Communications team and is primarily responsible for the development and management of the Arboretum’s website including definition and development. As the Arboretum moves towards a digital framework, this position is an integral part of developing the Arboretum’s identity.
70% - Web Content
Plans, creates, publishes and edits content to attract and serve internal and external stakeholders using institutional website standards.
Conducts or utilizes market research to identify web content of most interest to target customers.
Evaluates web traffic & audience engagement metrics.
Utilizes the Arboretum’s overall Communications Plan to identify and include priority messages that are appropriate as web content.
Organizes web content in a way that is most useful for optimal user experience.
Optimizes web content keywords and text to drive high search engine rankings.
Ensures all content is high quality, accessible, up-to-date and consistent with brand and style guidelines.
Includes content representing the interests of diverse constituents.
Identifies, trains and collaborates with representatives from each unit to contribute ongoing updated content.
Edits and approves all content before posting to the website.
25% - Web Design and Development
Develops the website map and overall design.
Collaborates with the Arboretum and CFANS IT teams to execute technical functions as needed.
5% - Team Participation
Attends Marketing and Communications team meetings and All-Staff meetings
Collaborates with team and Arboretum colleagues in a professional manner
BA/BS in a related field plus at least two years of experience in web marketing or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.
Demonstrated written communication skills.
Experience working in a content management system such as Drupal 9.
Ability to work with individuals with diverse identities and underrepresented communities
The ability to problem solve and identify solutions to technical or operational problems with moderate supervision
Experience in a nonprofit, university or public garden setting.
A demonstrated interest and or passion for public gardens, nature, and the environment.
Experience with Drupal 9.
Experience working as part of an integrated marketing team.
