The director of marketing and communications leads, plans, directs, and implements overall strategies for marketing, public relations, and internal communications at Canterbury. The new director will have the opportunity to help implement a major new strategic investment in advertising and marketing at Canterbury, including new agency-designed branding and materials.

This is a fast-paced job that’s perfect for a professional who’s great at taking initiative, prioritizing assignments, and switching gears quickly when circumstances demand. The successful candidate will be social-media savvy, a punchy copywriter, a strategic thinker, and a great iPhone or Android photographer.

An undergraduate and/or graduate degree in a related field is preferred, with a minimum of five years' experience working in marketing, communications, or public relations required. Proficiency in social media platforms, Google Workspace, basics of website CMS is desired; knowledge of InDesign and graphic design preferred. A proven ability to work in a multifaceted environment while maintaining high standards of professionalism, discretion, a commitment to diversity and inclusivity, and a good sense of humor is desired.
