Harvard Business School (HBS) Career & Professional Development seeks an Associate Director, Digital Marketing to play a key role in ensuring that HBS students and alumni, as well as the organizations that recruit them, have a full awareness and understanding of our career development programs and recruiting resources.
HBS Career & Professional Development (CPD) enables students and alumni in the lifelong realization of their unique career vision. We seek an innovative and creative team player with excellent management skills, good judgment and stellar communications skills to manage digital marketing for CPD.
Responsibilities include:
- Reporting to the Director, Digital Strategy, Marketing & Corporate Relations, this role will manage and develop two Managers, Digital Engagement and one Marketing Coordinator; and engage team to shape marketing messaging across channels and audiences.
- Manage implementation of CPD student marketing and communications. Determine content ideation, execution and growth strategies across web, email and social channels to create targeted and timely campaigns showcasing CPD's resources and driving engagement. Motivate team to optimize content channels, messaging, timing and segmentation based on student interests, sentiment, data and performance analytics.
- Drive CPD alumni marketing & communications initiatives including email, social and paid/ organic advertising to increase engagement with career content, resources and programs. Oversee website content development that supports alumni in their career transitions. Measure goals and metrics to determine success of engagement with content and resources.
- Manage CPD employer marketing & communications' goals and strategy that impact website content development, email and social media campaigns. Increase engagement with new and current recruiting partners of interest to our students and alumni through data, curated content and thought leadership. Utilize analytics to drive content ideation and delivery.
- Support team's utilization of technology platforms & data to streamline and enhance CPD's marketing efforts - including Adobe Analytics, Sprout, Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, LinkedIn and CPD's recruiting platform 12twenty.
- Collaborate with student, alumni and recruiter facing colleagues in CPD and External Relations on content and communications for their respective constituents. Partner with marketing colleagues across the MBA Program and HBS more broadly, on content collaboration and amplification; and with external vendors on projects from video production to website development.
- Determine and evangelize how marketing can support CPD's Corporate Relations Directors and Recruiting Relations Managers – in service of their work with recruiters, students and alumni.
This role is offered as a hybrid (some combination of onsite and remote) where you are required to be onsite at our Boston, MA based campus 3 days per week. Specific days and schedule will be determined between you and your manager.

- Bachelor's degree required
- 7+ years of relevant digital marketing experience required
- MBA degree preferred
- Experience with CMS and CRM platforms
- Proven track record of utilizing data and analytics to drive cross-platform marketing strategies
- Strong people management skills, with demonstrated success managing, inspiring and developing a team to achieve short- and long-term goals
- Comfort working with both internal and external cross-functional teams
- Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal & communication skills
