Overview:
Oversee the marketing and communications initiatives that positively influence SCE credit admissions, professional development enrollment, all stakeholder engagement, and school-specific events.
Essential Duties:
1. Create an overarching marketing strategy to develop and implement SCE-related marketing and communications content in all forms and media types, including all academic and non-academic initiatives/programs/events promotional materials. Lead, supervise/execute all promotional and communication campaigns for SCE multimedia, multi-channel marketing, and advertising for SCE programs, services, and other strategic and engagement initiatives deemed essential by the Dean. Coordinate website, digital marketing, and promotional items for internal and external meetings and events. Collaborate on admissions and recruiting work for SCE, including selecting and managing third parties to support SCE admissions communication efforts for SCE.
2. Lead internal communications efforts through various platforms, including the public website, internal portal, social media, email, etc. Author and edit timely messages regarding achievements and pressing issues aimed at various stakeholders in the voice of SCE leadership. Develop and supervise the execution of regularly scheduled communications for SCE programs and initiatives. Oversee support staff development and distribution of regularly scheduled (as well as ad hoc) newsletters, flyers, and communications for various SCE stakeholder groups (students, faculty, staff, clients, partners, etc.)
3. Lead web content creation for SCE, academic and non-academic programs, and all SCE affiliated initiatives. Monitor and maintain web quality assurance and SEO (search engine optimization) using in-house tools. Coordinate and supervise the creation of new web pages and, as needed, collaborate with web services and marketing and communications on the design of custom web content and redesign of existing SCE sites.
4. Cultivate corporate/alumni partnerships to create pipelines of certificate program students and corporate clients through lead-generating outreach, in collaboration, as necessary, with the College's Center for Career Education and Professional Development, Institutional Advancement, academic schools, and other College departments.
5. Collaborate with the College's Marketing & Communications area to manage the integration of PC and SCE branding initiatives, including coordination of brand and PR consulting projects, thought-leadership visibility initiatives, and brand collateral opportunities (e.g., photoshoots, videos).
6. Track and analyze the effectiveness of marketing and communication initiatives and channels. Provide budget and rational for recommended marketing programs and monitor spending.
Marginal Duties:
1. Perform all other duties as may be required.
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing from an accredited institution required. Master's in business and higher education experience preferred
- Minimum of five years' experience in promoting professional development and academic programs, corporate relations/alumni engagement/marketing content and communications in digital and other formats, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing degree completion and professional development marketing and communication efforts across multiple channels
- Demonstrated experience with labor market and business assessments to shape SCE offerings and new product opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal, written, editorial, verbal, and presentation skills
- Must be a self-starter, innovative, hard-working, and able to take initiative
- Demonstrated proficiency with website development and editing, Microsoft Office 365 programs, and CRM (Slate, Salesforce, etc.) experience
- Proficiency with graphic and web design software, including Adobe software, specifically InDesign and Photoshop, or a willingness to learn
- Demonstrated knowledge and consistent experience using and managing various social media outlets on behalf of a business or organization
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff
- Ability to work nights and weekends as business needs require.
