Overview
The Senior Marketing Manager will play a key role in leading brand strategy and execution for a rare disease neurology brand. Focused on the development and execution of HCP and patient initiatives, this role will regularly work cross-functionally with sales, market access, commercial operations, medical affairs, regulatory, legal, and other functions to achieve brand and company objectives. Responsibilities will span the marketing mix including personal, nonpersonal and live events, ensuring target market engagement and optimal growth for the brand.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical brand marketing plans to achieve business objectives, including brand planning, strategy development and messaging evolution for both HCP and patient audiences
- Serves as subject matter expert for the brand, demonstrates deep knowledge of disease state, treatment landscape, patient journey and market trends
- Provide strategic guidance for the development and execution of marketing specific activities related to advocacy partnerships, medical conventions, exhibits and trade shows
- Collaborate with patient services and advocacy to support marketing material needs and develop targeted programming
- Work with sales to ensure programs are pulled through and optimized in the field as well as support training needs
- Collaborate with market research team to develop primary research plans for the brand and derive insights from direct customer research as well as through interacting with sales, medical, and KOL thought leaders to understand market and customer needs
- Develop strategic approach for patient influencer marketing and manage ongoing execution of programs
- Collaborate with key business partners across the organization including sales, medical affairs, patient services, and advocacy to ensure optimal execution and evaluation of key brand tactics
- Ensure timely understanding, measurement and evaluation of brand performance and work collaboratively withing the marketing team to modify tactical plans as needed
- Manage the brand budget, ensuring strategic allocation of funds and monthly tracking
- Manage agency partners to ensure strategic alignment and execution of programs and tactics on time and within budget
- Ensure all Medical Legal review (MAP) processes are followed, and all programs are compliant with legal guidance and corporate policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience
- Healthcare and/or pharmaceutical experience a must
- Rare disease experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies and tactical plans
- Ability to develop professional relationships with KOLs and patient community
- Experience developing and managing budgets and timelines
- Understanding of market research and tracking KPIs
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience in managing workflow through legal and regulatory promotional review process
- Expert understanding of FDA regulations and guidance regarding advertising and promotion of prescription drug and biologic products
- Highly analytic and curious thinker, with a strong ability to derive actionable insights from multiple and complex data sources
- Proven track record of driving successful cross-functional and agency partnerships
- Ability to move nimbly between strategic thinking and tactical details to execute with excellence
- Experience with Veeva platform

- Working Conditions: Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations. Periodic overnight travel.
