MARKETING SPEC 2 (Marketing Analyst)
Department Description
The Mouse Biology Program at UC Davis is looking for a Marketing and Outreach Director who can help us promote our scientific services and cryopreserved translational models. We support multiple national and international collaborations looking to better humanity through research using mice as a translational model for human disease. This position is funded 50% by the Mouse Biology Program (MBP) and 50% by the Mutant Mouse Resource & Research Centers Informatics, Coordination and Service Center (ICSC) (MMRRC ICSC) which overlap in much of their personnel and outreach activities. Job Summary
Under general supervision, direct and manage the marketing and outreach efforts for the products and services offered by the UC Davis Mouse Biology Program and the MMRRC ICSC. Develop and manage social media campaigns, identify opportunities to leverage outreach efforts, and partner with outside organizations as appropriate. Write, edit and produce marketing collateral, the MBP Annual Stakeholder Report, and quarterly advisory committee reports. Manage monthly and quarterly direct-email campaigns through Constant Contact. Track expenditures and make recommendations for future development. Oversee all logistics for scientific conferences, research fairs and special meetings. Arrange registration of personnel, evaluate and purchase display booth space and services, and arrange transportation of marketing materials and provide post event evaluations of effectiveness. Prepare and present monthly analysis and evaluation on marketing and outreach efforts. Oversee monthly internal MBP Outreach & Marketing committee and similar meetings in association with the MMRRC, MMRRC-ICSC, and other programs. Provide marketing and outreach presentations at internal meetings and national and international teleconferences. Manage and curate content, narratives, posts and campaigns across multiple social media platforms. Track and evaluate effectiveness, reach and conversion of campaigns utilizing Google Analytics across multiple websites.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education/Experience:
- BA/BS in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations Biology, Life Sciences, or related degree and or experience.
- Familiarity with biology, clinical, or other life sciences.
- Demonstrable experience with SEO, ideally within the biological sciences community or related field.
- Experience creating and implementing marketing plans and strategies, providing a wide array of marketing, communication and outreach activities in a research, scientific or healthcare setting.
- Writing and editorial experience to produce clear, well-organized information; experience editing copy for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation.
- Experience performing marketing analysis to define objectives, seek appropriate information sources, formulate logical conclusions, and recognize alternatives.
- Experience in making transportation, space, and service arrangements for marketing materials at national and/or international meetings.

- Familiarity with the AP Style Guide, including AP for Social.
- Skilled with tools to create and promote marketing materials (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Inkscape, etc.)
- Skills to identify, gather, compile, distill, and organize information from multiple sources and present in an appropriate, understandable format.
- Skills with computer systems, spreadsheets, word processing, presentation software, desktop publishing, developing digital images in electronic formats and managing several social media accounts simultaneously.
