Drake University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Athletics Director or Director of Athletic Marketing. Responsibilities encompass a portfolio including the marketing and promotions of Drake sport programs, Drake Relays and Drake Road Races. The Assistant Athletics Director or Director is responsible for full-time staff, including the cheer head coach, along with oversight of a student marketing team. Provide direction and oversight of Athletics brand management and licensing. Administer all advertising campaigns across assigned platforms. Work collaboratively with corporate sales team on utilization commitments. Opportunity for a customized work arrangement including remote and flex scheduling.
Develop, organize, implement and provide oversight for all athletic and sports specific marketing plans, including working collaboratively with ticketing, video production, on-campus and community organizations to increase event attendance, ticketing revenue and exposure for Drake Athletics.
Oversee marketing, in-game promotions, event scripting and presentation of home athletic events.
Collaborate with Director of the Drake Relays to implement the following for both the Drake Relays and Drake Road Races: email marketing campaigns, social media strategy, advertising and project manager for all collateral creation.
Administer all athletics advertising, social media, email marketing and collateral material production including graphic design.
Supervise the assistant director of marketing, cheer program, and act as liaison with Band, Dance and live mascot director.
Create, implement and oversee community outreach projects to promote the Drake Athletics brand.
Assist in providing direction and oversight of athletic department brand management and licensing.
Manage annual marketing, cheer/band and student wage budgets as well as oversee utilization of marketing focused trade budgets.
Work collaboratively with corporate sales to ensure that sponsorship fulfillment takes place as promised in agreements.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Athletics Director.
All of the duties described above require and understanding of and compliance with the rules of the NCAA, the Missouri Valley Conference, Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, Pioneer Football League, Summit League, and Drake University.
