Mount St. Mary’s University seeks a dynamic Executive Director of Marketing to be an integral part of developing and executing the University’s multi-channel marketing strategy. This hands-on marketing professional will take the lead as a team member in the Office of Marketing & Communications to manage integrated marketing communications strategies that build institutional brand awareness and positioning, and support achievement of enrollment and fundraising goals. This role requires a creative thinker with strong writing skills, project management capabilities, and strategic thinking. The position reports to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, Marketing & Communications and works collaboratively with a wide range of campus partners. The position supervises a Graphic Designer, Associate Director of Web Strategy and a Multimedia Specialist.
Oversee the university’s marketing strategy.
Lead the marketing team in areas of advertising, lead generation, branding, creative services, and community outreach, communications, and engagement to further the university’s mission.
Work closely with senior leadership to facilitate consistency and high-quality execution of the institution’s brand awareness and reputation through alignment with student and marketplace needs as well as achievement of business goals as it relates to new student and partnership recruitment.
Budget and resource management with the ability to lead interdepartmental collaboration on projects to support university initiatives and goals.
Be an imaginative, strategic, and high-performing leader with the ability to design and implement innovative and effective marketing and communications strategies
Responsible for the fiscal management of all marketing efforts to ensure that the university achieves financial and operational goals
Participate in the annual budgeting cycle, ensuring it accommodates growth goals and current costs of advertising, publications, and contracted services costs
Manages expenses and oversees contracts for reporting departments and functional units to ensure that departments stay at or below budget
Lead, manage, and hold reporting staff accountable for achievement of goals and expectations
Provide coaching, mentoring, and development of staff
Design and implement specific key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive best practices and support University vision
Attend leadership team meetings to provide strategic operational guidance and direction

At least 5-7 years of experience in higher education marketing roles
Experience with digital marketing
Experience with Slate CRM
Knowledge of HTML and CSS
