The Director of Program Marketing for the Office for External Education (OEE) at Harvard Medical School is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of enrollment marketing activities for a diverse set of programs that meet the learning needs of current and aspiring health care professionals, and corporate leaders at all levels. In addition to providing direct supervision of a high-performing program marketing team, this position leads efforts to design, implement and drive market strategies that support the launch and successful enrollment of live, blended, and online certificate, master's, and continuing education programs and courses designed for targeted audiences.
Working in conjunction with department leadership and program faculty, the Director of Program Marketing is responsible for overseeing the formulation of comprehensive marketing plans that meet and/or exceed application and enrollment targets, as well as revenue goals, while enhancing HMS's presence in key markets. This individual is responsible for evaluating and effectively employing appropriate marketing channels (digital, social, content, print, etc.) to achieve goals. He/she will provide a range of marketing services to support assigned programs: overseeing the management of program websites, messaging development, media spending, and program collateral development. Team leadership, communication, process orientation, marketing campaign analysis, and budgeting/forecasting responsibilities comprise the core components of this role. Continuous monitoring of enrollment trends and adjustment of marketing tactics are key responsibilities. The Director of Program Marketing reports to the Senior Director of Marketing for OEE.

This position is based in Boston, but the work may be done fully or primarily remote. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8 or more years of marketing, communications, and operations experience.
Experience leading and successfully influencing change initiatives in collaborative, matrixed environments where there are many stakeholders.
Experience in creating and executing comprehensive marketing plans to achieve results.
Evidence of ability to work at a tactical level (organizing meetings, analyzing data, solving administrative problems).
Ability to manage internal talent and external vendors/service providers to achieve goals.
Hands-on experience with marketing channels and tools including digital media, CRM systems, social media, blogs, traditional advertising and SEO/SEM.
Experience with product/program launches and management.
Experience in executing strategic plans, communication plans, quality controls, feedback mechanisms, and project schedules.
Demonstrated understanding of branding and identity development.
Proven record in producing usable reports on web analytics (including Google Analytics and Ads), direct marketing, feedback surveys, social media metrics, and dashboards.
Ability to use data to inform decision making, assess campaign effectiveness, and adapt campaigns to achieve goals.
Experience managing content within multiple website content management systems.
Appreciation for graphic design, web information architecture, and usability principles.
Experience managing creative work within established brand guidelines.

Demonstrated leadership ability and excellence in organizational management.
