Senior Director--Marketing and Communication Lubbock 30371BR Engineering
Position Description Manages and directs the day to day operations of a research center/institute or medium sized department. Plans, coordinates and supervises the operation and activities of the center/institute/department. Develops and implements policies and procedures, administers the budget, organizes tasks and sets priorities.
Develop, assist, and implement strategic communications and marketing efforts for the Whitacre College of Engineering (WCOE) Dean’s Office including digital media tools, print, and graphic design.
Manage, coordinate, and create WCOE website content and calendar to include its departments, centers, and programs.
Manages writing, design and coordination of digital communication and marketing materials for the WCOE.
Manages WCOE branding with internal and external audiences.
Assist departments, centers, and institutes with implementation of strategic marketing plans to include digital media, print media and other multimedia tools.
Actively seeks out student, faculty, staff and alumni stories that support the strategic messages.
Assist various faculty, staff, and administration with presentation preparation.
Connect regularly with the TTU Office of Communications and Marketing to ensure consistency in branding, messaging and marketing, and coordinate distribution of news releases to appropriate media outlets.
Develop and manage integrated WCOE publications.
Responsible for promotion of WCOE events including photography, videography, and social media as deemed appropriate.
Management of the WCOE marketing and communications staff.
Work collaboratively with WCOE Development and External Relations in support of the Dean.
Maintain a positive relationship with academic chairs, deans, and other staff to meet the marketing needs of the college.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses required by the dean.
Other duties as assigned in support of marketing and communications efforts in the WCOE.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, master's preferred; Six years progressively responsible management experience. Additional education beyond Bachelor's may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
Masters degree in Marketing, Media & Communications, or related field.
Experience filming, producing & editing video. Experience with photography and photo editing. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with others. Knowledge of offset/professional printing processes and document preparation, including creation of graphics and illustrations both for print and digital use. Experience with HTML and web maintenance.Ability to multitask. Knowledge of social media best practices and understanding of algorithms and current trends.
