POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College is soliciting applications for a Marketing Copywriter position in the Office of Communications and Marketing. Reporting to the Associate Director for Editorial and Content Strategy, the Marketing Copywriter provides professional marketing and communications support for the college???s recruitment marketing efforts. The Marketing Copywriter will create text, email, video, and social media content that engages priority audiences, promoting awareness, and supporting admissions, retention, and fundraising.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and write marketing copy for a variety of recruitment publications including website pages, advertising, social media posts, virtual tours, and video scripts in close collaboration with the digital design and multimedia teams
- Develop copy to promote the college???s undergraduate and graduate academic programs and for the college???s online custom viewbooks
- Identify students to be profiled for the college???s Best of BC series, conduct interviews with students, and develop profiles for the college website
- Assist in the production of videos for website and social media featuring current students
- Help to develop content for campus internal e-newsletters and web content as needed
- Ensure that content follows the college???s established brand strategy and editorial stylebook
- Collaborate with other members of marketing and production teams to develop concepts
- Perform background research and factchecking
Vaccine Mandate
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor???s degree in communications, marketing, or relevant field
- At least 4 years of experience writing copy for marketing collateral
- Strong writing, grammatical, and proofreading skills
- Ability to collaborate and work as a team
- Deadline-oriented
- Experience with Search Engine Optimization best practices a plus.

Writes and prepares written material on College issues and event and provides professional support to College communications programs.
- Researches and writes items in a variety of formats for publication in print, web sites, and presentations
- Participates in planning communications projects and contributes to decisions on content and style
- May assume editorial responsibility for communications projects; reviews and edits the work of others
- May coordinate production of written materials
- Adheres to journalistic standards for fact-finding, research, verification, and style
- Performs related duties as assigned.
