The Hemmings SVP, Marketing role is the highest-ranking position within the Hemmings marketing organization. The SVP, Marketing is responsible for overseeing the planning, development and execution of Hemmings marketing, events, branding, paid advertising, and public relations initiatives. The ideal candidate will work proactively to secure appropriate opportunities among industry and consumer media to generate print, online, social media and broadcast opportunities to generate maximum, positive publicity for the Company’s branding, marketing, special projects, and community outreach. The SVP, Marketing plays a vital role in Hemmings growth across marketplace, media, events, and all other business lines. Reporting directly to the President, the SVP, Marketing’s primary responsibility is to increase audience patronage and sales through successful marketing for the entire organization, using market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising, public relations, and off platform extensions.
An advanced degree in marketing or business (MBA) is preferred
Approximately 10 years of well-rounded marketing or business development experience in positions of increasing responsibility with a focus on market expansion
Proven, exceptional presentation skills, including strategic positioning of messaging (samples required).
Event promotion, activation and execution experience required
Consumer brand and e-commerce marketing experience preferred
Three to five years of experience in a marketing leadership role

Roles & Responsibilities
Oversee a company’s overall advertising and brand position strategy
Oversee planning and execution of Hemmings branded events
Drive revenue by increasing sales through marketing activities
Develop the structure of the business’s marketing department
Hire, develop and manage Hemmings marketing and events team
Negotiate advertising contracts
Approve marketing campaign ideas
Coordinate marketing efforts with the company’s financial and branding goals
Plan, direct and coordinate marketing budgets in accordance with organizational goals
Oversee development and management of all collateral communications materials, including annual reports, pamphlets, and audio-visual presentations such as board decks, pitch decks, internal meeting decks etc.
Plan campaigns with coupons, giveaways or contests to bring attention to and create interest in one of the organization’s products or services
Undertake market research studies and analyze the results to better understand the market and customer tastes
Use research to identify likely customers for a product or service and then develop a pricing strategy that will induce them to purchase the product or service
Market research, pricing, product marketing, marketing communications, advertising and public relations.
