WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Associate Director of Marketing Analytics is responsible for designing and developing customer-centric and actionable analytics solutions, improving analytic operational efficiency, driving innovative analytics methodology development, and leading ad-hoc digital analytics projects. This person will lead efforts to analytically support the MarTech team to ensure consistent quality output on all reporting projects through comprehensive storytelling and data visualization. They will work to develop and grow new client deliverables and explore new technologies/methodologies.
This person will be responsible for managing the Marketing Analytics team and maintaining and enforcing department protocols that are directly related to the departmental objectives. This position requires high-level strategic thinking and a passion for advertising/marketing data.
We are looking for someone who can work with brand strategists and tactical team leads to report on campaign successes and results and tell a story with the data so we can paint a complete picture and tie results back to strategy for our clients.
On a day-to-day basis, the Associate Director of Marketing Analytics will work closely with all teams across MarTech, including but not limited to Brand Strategy, Public Relations, Account Management, and the Customer Insights Team.
Responsibilities
- Stay current with the client and industry benchmarks by analyzing available insights, including monitoring KPI and campaign performance data trackers, regularly sharing across teams the learnings, with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
- Establish and maintain a high quality of data analysis and insights being pushed out by the team
- Help identify and articulate key trends and optimization insights
- Work with fellow MarTech team leads, Brand Strategy and Account Management to ensure advertising strategies are correctly reported on and optimized successfully throughout the year to meet client key performance indicators.
- Understand our client's business and strategic objectives with the ability to generate new and original ideas to enhance client performance
- Work with account management to identify untapped revenue potential for clients and work with fellow MarTech team leads to develop omnichannel campaigns to boost these revenue streams
- Extract deep analytics insights and work with the team to provide actionable insights and recommendations
- Proactively seek ways to address data gaps and quality to improve performance to maximize campaign results
- Be comfortable presenting to clients and leaders and share key learnings
- Manage the teams time spent against multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are maintained and met
- Oversee the delivery of client deliverables and ensure that clients easily understand them and are able to tell the story
- Build and Maintain Vendor Relationships
- Manage Marketing Analytics-related projects and be a strategic sounding board for cross-functional teams.
Team Management Responsibilities
- Coach, mentor, and guide the Marketing Analytics team members, including onboarding new members and providing career development planning and opportunities.
- Provide oversight and direction to team members in accordance with Midan policies and procedures
- Empower team members to take responsibility for their jobs. Delegate responsibilities and expect accountability and regular feedback
- Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among the team that allows for healthy conflict and expeditious conflict resolution regarding ideas and other matters. - Consciously create a workplace culture that is consistent with Midan's mission, vision, guiding principles, and values
- Lead team members using a performance management and development process that provides an overall context and framework to encourage contribution, including goal setting, feedback, and performance development planning. In conjunction with the MarTech Director, develop team goals annually and monitor individual team goals quarterly
- Maintain team member work schedules, including assignments, training, vacation and other paid time off, telecommuting, and covering for absenteeism
- Maintain transparent communication in a timely manner. Appropriately communicate Midan's information through team meetings, one-on-one meetings, email, instant messaging, and regular interpersonal communication
- In conjunction with the MarTech Director, manage overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities for the marketing analytics team
- Plan and allocate staffing and financial resources effectively to meet the team and Midan's goals
- Communicate regularly with other members of the management team

- 8+ years of experience in advertising, customer/consumer insights, strategic planning, or similar field
- 3+ years managing or leading a team(s) of individuals with a wide range of experience, skill sets, and personalities
- 2+ years with vendor/agency and/or client-side experience preferred
- 3+ years working with proprietary and syndicated datasets
- Good understanding of the web, media, and content tagging and the impact tagging can have on data quality
- Knowledge of: SQL and other database technologies, Google Analytics, Kantar, WebTrends, Microsoft Office, Sizmek, Power BI/Tableau.
- Direct experience with online direct marketing, online media, and social media performance analysis
- Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, segmentation, research, lifetime value, and ROI, a plus
- Proficient in manipulating and analyzing complex data sets for both planned and ad hoc analysis
- Ability to be a self-starter, with demonstrated effectiveness of consultative skills and brand expertise
- Strong writing and verbal communications skills, including the ability to read, analyze and interpret information from a variety of sources
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills required
- Attention to detail and a passion for data storytelling - required
Education, Training and Network (REQUIRED)
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Advertising, Business Administration, Market Research, Consumer Behavior, Data Analytics, or other related fields.
- Proficient in engaging storytelling using consumer insights, data, and other resources available
- Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Knowledge of best practices in advertising campaign tracking
- Experience in Google Analytics (certification in Google tools a plus)
