Posting Summary:
Teachers College Press is seeking a Marketing & Sales Director to join our team. This position manages marketing, sales and promotional activities for the publishing program, including strategic planning, industry conferences, creating promotional materials, copywriting, publicity, social media, cover design, website management, direct mail and budgeting.
Specific responsibilities include:
*Overseeing marketing activities worldwide for the frontlist publishing program and key backlist titles.
*Managing industry conference planning, logistics and budgets.
*Enhancing and expanding our digital marketing footprint.
*Analyzing promotions to develop best practices and streamlining processes.
*Supervising customer service.
*Partner with cross-functional teams to maximize sales opportunities.
The appropriate candidate will have 7-10 years of book publishing experience in the academic or higher education space. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in all areas of book marketing are a necessity. This position is located in our New York City office.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Marketing and Sales Director manages and oversees marketing and sales activities for the publishing program, including strategic planning, participation in industry conferences, creating promotional materials, copywriting, publicity, social media, cover design, managing website, direct mail and budgeting. This role is part of the Management Team for the Press.
Minimum Qualifications:
7-10 years of book publishing experience in the academic or higher education space.
Demonstrated experience with all areas of book marketing.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Creative thinker who takes initiative and follows through.
Willingness to learn new systems, take a leadership role, as is a team player.
Completed Bachelor’s Degree or higher.
