The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (www.aiaa.org) in Reston, VA seeks a Marketing Coordinator to work as a part of our Marketing, Revenue Development & Communications team to support marketing efforts and administer our email marketing system to support the growth of AIAA’s products and services and the expansion of its outreach programs.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, you will assist with promotional deliverables through AIAA’s e-channels (e.g. web, email, social media, etc.) by combining strategic methods, planning, and ongoing optimization.
In this role, you will also prepare marketing dashboards and analyze activity and metrics for measuring program success; as well as participate in ideation brainstorms to identify emerging opportunities for promoting AIAA’s products and services through online, mobile, social marketing, and new technologies.
AIAA has a Flexible Workplace, where staff work primarily remote, but are required to attend meetings in the office and collaborate in person as needed. Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC metro area.
Key Responsibilities:
Email Marketing
- Design emails using Hubspot that are graphically appealing and format email templates for promotions
- Implement effective email strategy including audience segmentation, testing, optimization, and messaging
- Set-up, test, and deploy automated campaigns
- Work with AIAA editors and marketing staff to review/edit for consistent voice/messaging, and coordinate, send, and track all promotional emails
- Monitor email performance and generate analytics reports to assess delivery and campaign efficiency
- Manage the Institute’s email schedule
Reporting and Analysis
- Produce regular traffic and commerce reports from Google Analytics and AdWords for measuring the effectiveness of promotional efforts
- Build HubSpot reports and dashboards to track customers, engagement, and marketing efforts
Digital Strategy
- Manage and track online advertisements and promotions
- Assist with lead acquisition, and help develop digital campaigns that will nurture and grow relationships
Marketing and Project Coordination
- Facilitate and monitor project requests from internal clients within a project management system
- Assist with developing and executing marketing plans and promotion schedules as needed
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for marketing, communications, or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience
- At least 1-3 years of relevant email marketing experience (Hubspot experience a plus)
- Demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of the principles of email design
- Quick grasp of new software, systems, and processes
- Superior project management and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Have a naturally positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to be self-reliant
- Good listener with ability to accept and apply constructive feedback
Preferred Skills:
- Google Tag Manager, Analytics, AdWords and Content Management Systems (CMS) experience preferred
- Moderate proficiency with HTML preferred
- Promotional copywriting experience preferred
- Proofreading and editing experience preferred
- Experience with research using data analytics software preferred
