Candidates must live in the DFW metroplex - the position is not fully remote; we work both in office and from home during the week.
What you’ll do:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Work with the CEO, CDO, the development team and staff to create revenue goals, both long and short-range, to accomplish the Foundation’s financial and public awareness needs.
- Provide leadership and supervision of a team of 4 full-time employees and seasonal interns; mentor direct reports to achieve professional and personal growth goals; routinely provide feedback and guidance to encourage individual and team growth; and address any personnel issues in a timely manner that would negatively impact the team or organization.
- Support the growth of the chapter through collaboration with all departments to broaden awareness across all audiences.
- Build and sustain strong, effective relationships with key stakeholders including staff, board members, partners/donors, volunteers, and media.
- Track defined data, metrics, and benchmarks to meet goals established for revenue and brand awareness.
Marketing:
- Strategically lead all branding, marketing, and communications to heighten awareness of our mission and events including, but not limited to, campaigns, digital/online promotions, print and electronic collateral, reports, advertising, news relationships, and other promotional material.
- Oversee the maintenance of brand standards as provided by Make-A-Wish America and ensures training for staff and the Board of Directors is provided to ensure consistent and effective brand communication.
- Leads the marketing team to work collaboratively with the CDO and CEO on crisis communication plans and PR strategy.
Events:
- Manage and build chapter events through increased corporate, individual, volunteer, and other community involvement to ensure MAWNTX’s sustainability and fulfillment of the Make-A-Wish mission.
- Work with key staff and Board committee members to develop plans for annual Wish Night program including, but not limited to, venue and vendor coordination, program theme, development of event program and activities and marketing of the event along with event logistics such as AV, registration, and coordinating work with event venue.
- In collaboration with regional development team members, manages development of sponsorship packages tailored to each event to meet the needs of prospective donors and partners.
- Interface with the MAWNTX Board of Directors and other members of the Make-A-Wish individual donor network to leverage their corporate contacts, securing introductions for event sponsorship and activation.
- Prepare and manage event budgets, track event expenditures (including monitoring of check requests, deposits, invoicing, and reporting), and provide on-going financial progress reports for each event.
- Manages all details surrounding the Wish Night Board committee including but not limited to coordinating meetings with committee chair, planning meetings and follow-up from meetings.
- Works with staff on engagement of Wish Night volunteers focused on securing auction, raffle, and volunteer roles pre-, during, and post-event, and other aspects on the night of execution.
- Develop event marketing collateral, broadcast media opportunities, social media advertising, as well as other publicity targets.
- Summarize face-to-face visits, outreach and communication, and proposal details via contact reports in donor record utilizing Sales Force.
- Represent the Chapter at fundraising events and in the community.
- In accordance with the Make-A-Wish team philosophy, carries out or assists with other tasks in addition to those listed in the job description.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business or related equivalent experience.
- 7 years minimum experience in non-profit event planning, execution, fundraising, and marketing communication. At least three years supervision/leadership experience.
