Description of Work:
The Director of Marketing and Communications for Student Affairs leads an innovative and comprehensive marketing services team that serves as the primary marketing and communications avenue for 16 diverse units within the Division of Student Affairs. The director will develop and implement communications plans, policies, and processes that effectively support the division's communications priorities and can be shared widely with the university community and public across multiple media formats. The director leads the development and branding processes for websites, social media, major projects, and publications; provides leadership and counsel to departments across the division regarding effective marketing and communications strategies; establishes standards; and provides oversight of editorial content for websites, social media publications, and other internal and external communication channels. This position supervises staff responsible for campaign development, newsletter production, crisis communication, social media, graphic and video production, website management, among other communication functions.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, or related field. A minimum of five years of progressive experience working in marketing and communications. Three years of supervision and leadership experience. Experience developing and managing budgets. Demonstrated experience developing marketing strategy. Working knowledge of graphic and web design, social media, copywriting, CRM tools, and multi-faceted campaign development, including a well-rounded portfolio demonstrating a combination of your own work and work of a team you've led. Must have strong interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to work collaboratively, problem solve, and manage sensitive information. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism, business, higher education, or related field. Significant experience within multiple aspects of a marketing and communications roles. Experience in higher education.
Posted Salary: $90,000 /yr. minimum
