Memorial Medical Center and Hayward Area Memorial Hospital are sister hospitals currently seeking a Sr. Director of Strategic Development & Marketing to lead our strategic organizational initiatives. This role serves as an internal consultant and thought partner to the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) and executive teams in determining and conceptualizing strategic business development and marketing initiatives. This hands-on leader has a rare ability to blend technical, operational, and creative disciplines, being highly skilled in analyzing large datasets, deriving business conclusions, and illustrating findings in a visual format that effectively conveys insights with context, with the end result being expanded services, brand awareness, and enhanced community reputation.
Primary Responsibilities
- Performs strategic reviews of available opportunities, conducts assessments to determine alignment with corporate strategy, and provides recommendations to senior leaders whether to pursue business opportunities further.
- Utilizes strong risk assessment skills both on the macro and micro level, with the ability to write and report out on business proformas.
- Conducts SWAT analyses at appropriate intervals, and scans the business environment to learn the strategic activities of other health systems to determine opportunities for market expansion.
- Works within the healthcare industry and with internal Marketing and external consultants to identify, review and analyze new markets, innovative technologies and solutions that will contribute to our strategic planning process in order to realize our vision.
- Implements strategic projects that will include customer facing initiatives such as development of service offerings.
- Knowledge of grant funding opportunities as it relates to strategic development.
- Through Marketing leadership, drives the strategic marketing plan to grow brand equity and brand identity in our markets and ultimately enhance consumer experience and loyalty.
- Provides strategy and direction over marketing and communications to support brand development, long-term growth, goals/initiatives and REI vision. Manages marketing communications, promotions, social media, and digital ecosystem.
- Oversees and manages capital and operational budgets, policies and procedures, and compliance with accrediting agencies related to departments within the scope of authority.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic planning, marketing public relations/community relations, preferably in health care
- A minimum of 4 years of direct leadership experience overseeing staff and marketing programs
- Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, or a related field required
