Position Information
This position is responsible for crafting high-quality marketing copy and compelling content that supports UC Riverside's fundraising, marketing, brand-building, and promotional priorities. The marketing copywriter will develop a deep understanding of the UCR brand, value proposition, and distinctives in order to create inspiring written content, across a variety of channels, that will engage and mobilize the university's core audiences. Superior writing and editing skills are critical to success in this position. Finalists for this position will be asked to provide relevant writing samples.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to comply with the University of California SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) Vaccination Program Policy. All Covered Individuals under the policy must provide proof of Full Vaccination or, if applicable, submit a request for Exception (based on Medical Exemption, Disability, and/or Religious Objection) or Deferral (based on pregnancy) no later than the applicable deadline. For new University of California employees, the applicable deadline is ten weeks after their first date of employment.

The budgeted amount for this position is up to $75,000. Additionally, this position is eligible for hybrid accommodations.

Thorough attention to detail, project management and organizational skills.
Thorough knowledge of issues in higher education, a specialized academic discipline or field and / or health sciences.
Knowledge of computer applications for publishing, image handling, and / or web production.
Thorough interpersonal communications skills, including active listening and effective collaboration skills.
Thorough knowledge of appropriate editorial style and publication guidelines.
Thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation.
Ability to work independently
Accuracy and thoroughness, and ability to monitor work to ensure quality.
Thorough knowledge of communications principles and marketing techniques.
