Primary Responsibilities
Serve as secondary marketing contact for men’s basketball- This includes serving on the game day marketing staff for home events and assisting with execution of marketing plan. Serve as a contributing member of the external operations team- The Assistant will work with the Associate AD for External, Director of Athletic Marketing, and the ticket office staff to generate revenue via season, single game and group ticket sales. Create and assist in the promotion of ticket sales and marketing efforts through mass email to Butler database. Create notifications to be sent out to all students, Dawg Pound, etc. using website Butler Sports App. Social Media Management- This includes management of @ButlerAthletics accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, specifically Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Football. Manage Pepsi Allotment- Place orders and communicate with coaches on free product requests from Gatorade and Pepsi
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Organizational skills, ability to multi-task/manage projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking skills; willingness to take initiative and learn
- Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills along with strong customer service skills
- Proven ability to work autonomously, collaboratively and within a team structure
- Proficiency in office software systems such as: MS Word, Office, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1-2 years relevant experience (Sports Marketing, Marketing, Communications, etc.)
- Extensive knowledge of different sports ranging from player familiarity to the rules of how these sports are played
