WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking an experienced, detail oriented, friendly team player who is excited to join our team. This position reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for the implementation and management of the Society’s membership and marketing operations.
This position will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Society by working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. You will work to recruit and retain members with a specific emphasis on customer service, member value and member engagement. The ideal candidate has the ability to build relationships with CFAW members and can clearly communicate and sell the value of membership to potential, new and current members.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the Society’s marketing and communication, including collateral, online newsletters, email campaigns and messaging across CFAW’s digital platforms.
In this role you are afforded the opportunity to work closely with the CEO gaining exposure to many aspects of the association industry. You must possess a collaborative spirit and thrive working within a small, close-knit team. SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Membership
- Serve as primary contact for all member inquiries. Respond to member and prospective member inquiries through email, telephone, and web
- Process membership applications and support new member onboarding
- Develop and maintain expert level familiarity with the membership database
- Compile and maintain prospective and current membership lists
- Produce routine and special requested reports from the database
- Review, evaluate and analyze membership trends, needs, and participation to track and grow recruitment, retention, and engagement
- Serve as staff liaison for the Member Engagement and External Relations committees
- Develop integrated membership campaigns (email, website, and online advertising)
- Assist in the active recruitment and engagement of volunteers
- Follow up with lapsed, dropped, and unaffiliated members via surveys and/or phone calls
- Marketing
- Develop, manage, and maintain a 6-month Communication Plan that outlines all scheduled communications to members
- Maintain a comprehensive marketing calendar
- Manage the distribution of member acquisition and renewal campaigns
- Work with outsourced vendor to produce and distribute online monthly newsletters and weekly event updates
- Develop and distribute dedicated email messages regarding projects and programs as appropriate and on a pre-established cadence
- Manage the design and creation of print collateral
- Utilize social media as a regular platform for communicating with the CFAW membership and financial investment community at large
- Promote and engage members to increase use of CFAW social media platforms
- Maintain an effective, inviting, and visually appealing website design
- Continually monitor and edit the CFAW website, ensuring priority items are featured, older information is updated or removed, and all weblinks work
- Ensure accurateness and relevancy of all information on the website
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: |
- Three (3) or more years of work experience in a membership organization a plus
- Proven project management skills
- Strong writer with excellent proofing skills
- Advanced knowledge of membership and marketing principles, strategies, and tactics
- Proficiency and experience with association management software – Salesforce preferred
- Desired tech stack: proficient in MS Office, CVENT, Constant Contact, Higher Logic, Zoom
- Self-directed, works independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well under pressure and think outside the box when needed
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
- A pro-active and can-do attitude, even when working under pressure and with all levels of staff
- Some local travel required, limited regional travel possible
