Bloomington Enrollment Marketing and Communications (EMC) delivers and supports strategic and innovative communications and marketing technology across all of OEM to advance student recruitment, service, and success. The department collaborates with campus partners to actively influence strategy, practice, and innovation.
Job Summary
The Digital Communications Developer is a part-time position in Bloomington Enrollment Marketing and Communications that supports online recruitment and digital communication initiatives for the Bloomington Office of Enrollment Management (OEM).
A person in this role would be encouraged to be passionate about supporting web, email, and social media best practices and strategies that increase awareness of IU, encourage engagement, and generate measurable, specific calls to action.Department Specific Responsibilities
- Utilizes various Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools, such as Salesforce, to build, implement, and send marketing, transactional, and event related communications for units within OEM.
- Assists with web updates, paid digital, and other digital communications strategies that support OEM marketing initiatives.
- Builds digital communications (primarily email) using a combination of HTML, CSS, Marketing Cloud Content Builder, and Photoshop.
- Prepares and uploads assets for use in digital communications.
- Assists in the creation of dynamic content through the use of Salesforce Ampscript and Liquid Markup.
- Assists in implementing tracking and analytics of digital communications.
- Assists in performing web updates using IU?s web content management system.
- Assists in gathering website analytics data for use in reporting and troubleshooting.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED)
Preferred
- Some college
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- Demonstrates experience using HTML and CSS to build emails and/or webpages
Preferred
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Slate CRM experience
- Experience using photo and design software tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience prepping images and graphics for web use, such as: cropping, resizing, compression, and color profiles
- Knowledge of basic programming and database concepts
- Higher education and IU experience

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work Location
This position is eligible for remote work.
Advertised Salary
The wage for this position is $17.00 an hour, depending on experience, education, and skills.
