The University of Tennessee Southern enthusiastically invites applications for a newly created Director of Marketing Operations in the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing. Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Operations is the chief process and project manager for the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing.
This position will be responsible for creating a seamless workflow that brings new levels of efficiency and productivity and assisting in the development and execution of strategies and solutions that drive continuous improvement within communications & marketing. Assists in the creation of communications and marketing solutions across campus. Provides leadership, facilitates creative problem solving, implementation and overall coordination of campus projects. From social media strategy and digital content development to data analysis and account management.
Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project Management:
- Oversee the activity, flow, production, logistics, and schedule of complex projects that consist of multiple components.
- Manage the full creative development life cycle for all marketing collateral.
- Evaluate and identify resources needed for project execution.
- Schedule and facilitate discovery meetings with internal and external teams to access communication needs and goals.
Operations
- Manage day-to-day operations of the department
- Develop and implement process improvement and workflow for requests.
- Improve and create operational processes.
- Provide work direction to members of the team to ensure priorities are addressed
- Assist with budget management and reconciliation.
Consultation
- Provide consultation services and expertise for clients in need of branding and marketing materials.
- Act as point of contact and collaborate on department special events or activities.
- Develop creative solutions for clients to enhance programs.
Special Events & Vendor Relations
- Develop and Execute Strategies to manage events across the campus.
- Ensure events are on budget and resources are available.
- Lead full cycle event planning.
- Manage current vendor relationships and source new vendors for future needs.
- Contribute in measurable ways to the mission of UT Southern and fully embrace the systemwide "Be One UT" Values.
