Since 1949, Sarasota Orchestra has inspired and entertained music-lovers across the region and visitors from around the world. As the oldest continuing orchestra in the state of Florida, each year the 76-member Orchestra performs more than 100 classical, pops, chamber music, and community outreach concerts.

Job Title: Marketing Coordinator
Department: Marketing
Reports To: Chief Marketing and Communications Officer
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: Sarasota Office (on-site)
General Overview
The Marketing Coordinator works closely with the marketing team members playing a central role overseeing department initiatives, in support of Sarasota Orchestra’s programs including professional concerts, youth education, and the Sarasota Music Festival.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate marketing plans and projects to ensure that design and content deadlines are met, placements and insertions are made, and invoices are processed and tracked, maintaining a master schedule of projects.
- Track all outstanding items through the department project management system (Basecamp).
- Utilize email marketing platform to create/deploy email campaigns for marketing and development departments. Produce and send concert reminders to ticket holders.
- Assist with the coordination of promotional events such as information tables at Farmers Markets and outdoor concerts. Attend to assist in staffing the events.
- Assist social media manager in covering concerts, rehearsals, and other events relevant for social media.
- Review content for consistency across all marketing platforms (collateral, web, eblasts and social media).
- Undertake administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the department’s activities.
- Perform other relevant duties and additional projects as assigned. Duties and responsibilities described herein are not a comprehensive list, and additional job tasks may be assigned from time to time as necessitated by the Marketing department and business needs.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, music, or marketing required.
· Classical music education or orchestra performance experience at a college level strongly preferred.
· 1-2 years of relevant work experience in a marketing or orchestra administrative environment. Advanced degree and relevant internships considered in place of work experience.
· Computer skills including MS Office, PowerPoint, a website content management system, and multiple social media platforms.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel. The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, and viewing a computer terminal. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions
The job operates in a professional environment including office and performance hall settings. The environment is generally moderate in temperature and noise level.
