The part-time Marketing and Communications Assistant will assist the College of Humanities and Social Sciences? communications department with day-to-day operations, post content to the College?s website, and create promotional materials to raise awareness about the College. The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of digital marketing trends, excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, and a keen attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
Provide editorial support for digital communications as needed: write brief news items (CHSS in the Media) and announcements recognizing faculty accomplishments (Shout Outs);
Post content, including events, news briefs and departmental announcements, to the CHSS website using the CHSSWeb content management system;
Assist in content management for the signs in Horizon (periodic cleanup, assisting with posting for the Dean's Office);
Assist with website quality control (fix broken links, review content, make content updates on CHSS website);
Provide basic web support for IT team (answer basic questions from editors);
Serve as the primary contact for helping academic departments and programs develop and implement their marketing objectives; manage requests submitted via a marketing request form;
Assist departments and programs with crafting targeted messaging;
Guide departments and programs to resources for best practices in program promotion;
Create and maintain resources (templates, guidelines) for best marketing practices to support academic departments and programs; and
Develop general guidelines for spending marketing funds.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent communication skills, including writing;
A team player who can collaborate with others; and
Experience using a web CMS (training available).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience using Canva; and
MS Office experience.
