United Cooperative Services has an opening for the position of Marketing and Community Relations Specialist in the Burleson Business and Community Development Department. Candidate should have a stable, verifiable work history, with an acceptable MVR. A pre-employment drug and alcohol screen is required. This position develops, coordinates, and implements marketing and public and community relations strategies and activities for the organization. This position works with member services, key accounts, business development, communications and the executive staff in both the electric and internet services.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Marketing and Community Relations Manager
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, execute, and monitor comprehensive marketing plans and campaigns that align with the organization’s goals.
Manage and create engaging content for social media, email marketing and other digital platforms that generate business development opportunities.
Design and distribute promotional materials, including newsletters, brochures, social media reels/videos, and website updates.
Track and analyze campaign performance metrics to optimize marketing efforts and report on outcomes.
Identifies sales opportunities based on market segment research.
Organize and participate in community outreach events, sponsorships, social and business gatherings and volunteer activities to increase the organization’s visibility and positive impact.
Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring consistent messaging across all communications and representing the organization at public events.
Serve as a liaison between the organization and the local community, building and maintaining relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and community organizations.
Support the communications director in ad placement/planning, newsletter, Co-op Power, promotional pieces, etc.
Administers customer surveys to obtain marketing information about current and potential products and services.
Promotes and assists in the coordination of the Scholarship and Youth Tour programs.
Maintains a high level of customer service and promotes member loyalty by taking calls, discussing concerns, and answering inquiries.
Coordinates member and community meetings, including telephone town halls, membership appreciation day, key account events, etc.
Performs and assists with schools and career day events.
Educates members, builders and developers about cooperative products, services, and incentive programs.
Represents the cooperative in the communities throughout the service area by participating in civic and related organizations to improve the cooperative’s image in the community and utility industry. Participates in regular meetings and activities and presents the cooperative’s point of view to promote the cooperative.
Adheres to United safety policies and procedures and offer recommendations to your supervisor to enhance the cooperative’s safety culture.

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
City Government, Chambers of Commerce: Establishes relationships with city managers and economic development directors to learn when new industry locates within service territory.
Civic groups and service agencies: Actively participates in civic groups and partners with various service agencies that benefit local communities and United members.
Key contact with “decision makers” associated with existing and potential key accounts both at the local plant level and corporate level when necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Job Knowledge, Training and Experience: Requires Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or related discipline. Comparable experience may be substituted for degree. Three to five years of experience that includes marketing, public relations and/or community relations roles. Proven ability to create and execute successful marketing and public relations campaigns. Strong understanding of digital marketing, including social media management, and content marketing. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Proficiency with marketing tools and software, such as Google Analytics and social media platforms.
Equipment Operated: Must have ability to use office machines such as computer, fax, copy machine and telephone.
Abilities and Skills: Requires public speaking skills and a working knowledge of marketing, with strong oral and written communications. Must have knowledge of various desktop publishing software and Microsoft Office preferred. Requires ability to give, receive and analyze information, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans. Must be able to deal with a variety of people in varying situations with tact and diplomacy.
Physical Effort: Must be able to perform all activities listed in the job description with or without reasonable accommodation. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions: Requires working both inside and outside the office with some irregular working hours. Some travel is required inside and outside the cooperative service area.
