We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead our marketing efforts and drive audience acquisition, engagement, and retention for both our in-person concerts and our Virtual Concert Hall. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing growth strategies, managing marketing campaigns across various channels, and leveraging data-driven insights to fuel audience growth. This role is a primary thought partner with the Executive Director and works closely with cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious goals. Direct reports include two staff positions and additional contractor help.
The Director of Marketing and Communications reports to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities
Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies: Create comprehensive growth marketing plans to drive audience acquisition, engagement, and retention for in-person and virtual concerts.
Campaign Management: Own and manage all aspects of marketing campaigns across various channels, including digital, print, email, and social media.
Audience Development: Implement strategies to attract new audiences and retain/expand existing ones.
Data-Driven Insights: Utilize marketing analytics and data-driven insights to optimize marketing performance and inform strategic decisions.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director, Artistic Director, and other team members to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement in marketing effectiveness.
Budget Management: Manage marketing operations, including budget allocation, resource planning, and performance tracking.
Publication and Content Creation: Oversee the creation of marketing collateral and publications, including video trailers, promotional materials, program books, and event-specific content.
Community Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to enhance brand visibility at community engagement activities.
PR: Generate and maximize media exposure nationally and locally.
Event Coordination: Oversee on-site promotional activities and brand activations at concerts and events.
Performance Reporting: Establish reporting mechanisms to track marketing performance and provide insights to stakeholders.
Communications: Own organizational communication strategies and content and collaborate with the development team to facilitate branding of development communications. ?

Preferred Qualifications
Experience: 7+ years of experience in marketing.
Skills: Strong strategic thinker with a background in integrated marketing, including digital marketing, direct response, and traditional advertising.
Technical Proficiency: Expertise in marketing analytics, data-driven decision making, and performance measurement (OKR, KPI, A/B testing).
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage a team, with experience in coaching and developing team members.
Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
