Position Title: Marketing and Social Media Manager Location: Hillside School, Marlborough, MA Reports To: Director of Admissions & Marketing
Job Summary:
Hillside School, a Junior Boarding School serving grades 4-9, with a soon-to-open Lower School serving grades K-3, is seeking an enthusiastic Marketing and Social Media Manager to oversee and develop comprehensive marketing efforts for the school. This role will focus on enhancing the school’s brand, engaging with current and prospective families, and growing our presence within the community. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and staff to build a cohesive marketing strategy, maintain and develop the school’s website, and grow our social media presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Content Creation: Develop and implement marketing strategies for Hillside School, including promotional materials, advertising campaigns, and communications that highlight the unique aspects of our educational experience, particularly focusing on our new Lower School (Grades K-3). Write and design engaging content for various channels, including print materials, digital ads, newsletters, and brochures.
Website Management & Development: Oversee the maintenance, development, and content updates of the school website, ensuring that it is current, user-friendly, and aligns with the overall brand. Collaborate with IT and web developers to improve site functionality and user experience.
Social Media Management: Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to increase engagement and awareness across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Manage day-to-day content creation, including graphics, photography, and video, as well as community management (responding to comments, messages, etc.).
Community Engagement & Event Promotion: Promote school events, programs, and initiatives through digital marketing campaigns, social media, and traditional marketing efforts. Engage with local communities and media outlets to increase awareness of Hillside School’s programs, achievements, and special events.
Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyze marketing campaign performance across various platforms. Provide regular reports to senior leadership, highlighting key metrics such as website traffic, social media engagement, and campaign effectiveness. Adjust strategies as necessary based on performance data.
Branding and Communications: Ensure that all marketing materials, social media content, and communications are consistent with the school’s branding and messaging. Work with the Director of Communications and Advancement to ensure alignment with broader institutional goals and objectives.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
3+ years of experience in marketing, with a focus on social media, digital marketing, and content creation.
Experience in the education sector is a plus, but not required.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of social media platforms, website management tools, and digital marketing trends.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for storytelling.
