Digital Content and Website Management
Write and edit clear, engaging content for the Erb Institute website to appeal to prospective students, alumni, donors, faculty, partners, and researchers.
Update the website with news, events, features, and other content. Collaborate on SEO strategy to improve visibility and search rankings.
Social Media Management
Manage daily operations of the Erb Institute's social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and BlueSky), including content creation, scheduling, monitoring, and analytics.
Develop campaigns to grow engagement and reach, tailored to platform and audience.
Track social media trends and best practices and apply them to Erb's strategy.
Email and Newsletter Communications
Design, write, and distribute audience-specific newsletters to key stakeholder groups, including students, alumni, partners, and internal audiences.
Monitor analytics and adjust strategy for reach and engagement.
Content Creation and Strategy
Collaborate with the Associate Director on editorial planning and brand storytelling.
Maintain a content calendar across platforms and communications channels.
Create new content ideas (written, visual, and multimedia) to spotlight student stories, alumni updates, research impact, and events.
Support photography, video, and graphic design needs for campaigns and events (in partnership with freelancers or internal resources).
Event Promotion and Support
Create and distribute marketing materials for events and programs, including digital ads, email campaigns, and social content.
Ensure event communications are aligned with the Institute's brand voice and goals.
Support on-site social media coverage, and follow-up storytelling.
Project and Brand Management
Ensure all marketing materials reflect the Erb Institute's brand voice, values, and visual identity.
Coordinate with freelance designers, photographers, and writers when needed.
Track project deadlines and consistency.
Analytics and Reporting
Monitor website, email, and social media analytics to assess performance.
Create regular reports to share key insights and inform strategic improvements.
Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms, writing and editing for digital audiences, and coordinating marketing content and campaigns across multiple channels.
Proficiency with digital marketing tools and platforms, such as content management systems (e.g., WordPress or Drupal), social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Sprout Social), email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), and basic graphic design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
Familiarity with web analytics and social media metrics, and to inform strategy.
Knowledge of brand management, editorial calendars, and marketing best practices.
Experience with sustainability, higher education, or business-related communications.

Working conditions / Physical requirements
You occasionally move through the facility for meetings.
You may require work during early mornings, nights, or weekends.
This role is hybrid with on-site expectations in Ann Arbor, MI. You will travel to several locations to conduct work and deliver materials.

Salary Information
The posting range for this position is $28,800 to $35,525 (0.5 effort, 20 hours/week). This posting range reflects multiple factors involved in determining compensation, such as skills, experience, training, certifications, and other organizational needs. At Ross, it is not common for new hires to be offered a salary at the upper end of the range. Compensation decisions are based on the details of each situation.
