The College of Business at Oregon State University invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, tenure-track professorial position with open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in the area of Marketing within the School of Marketing, Analytics, and Design.
Position responsibilities include but are not limited to establishing and maintaining a strong program of research resulting in peer-reviewed publications, teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, and providing service to the college, university, and academic discipline.
Service requirements are greater at the Associate and Full Professor ranks. To be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor, candidates must have sufficient experience and qualifications for promotion in accordance with University guidelines, including a demonstrated record of research of acceptable dimension that works toward distinction in scholarship. To be considered for appointment at the Full Professor rank, candidates must additionally demonstrate that they have achieved distinction in research, teaching, and service in accordance with University guidelines.

The School of Marketing, Analytics and Design (MAD) offer majors in Marketing and Analytics, as well as four different Design majors: Design and Innovation Management (DIM), Apparel Design, Interior Design, and Merchandising Management. The Marketing program is one of the largest majors in the College of Business (2nd after general Business Administration) and the program continues to attract students at the undergraduate and graduate (Master's) levels.
Oregon State University operates on a quarter system. College of Business research-active faculty members typically receive a research quarter and usually teach a total of five courses during two of three 10-week quarters of the academic year. The College of Business moved into Austin Hall in September 2014 and provides access to a dedicated research space and subject pool. ABOUT THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS
At the College of Business, we offer Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Master of Science in Business (MSB) degrees, along with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. These degree programs encompass more than 25 business and design majors and options with the support and insight of more than 185 area and national businesses. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):
Typically requires PhD or terminal degree (Masters for some Extension positions and MLS for Library positions), demonstrated ability to teach in a classroom Extension, or other setting, and develop a research program in the academic discipline/unit.
Requirements :
An appropriate earned doctorate from an AACSB International accredited university or an equivalent with an emphasis in Marketing by the employment start date.
Evidence of, or potential and motivation for, research excellence and scholarly publication in leading peer-refereed journals.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Ability to contribute to a congenial and inclusive work culture.
For the Associate and Full Professor rank, applicants must hold a similar rank with tenure with an appropriate record of research excellence in leading peer-reviewed journals.
For the Associate Professor rank, applicants must also show evidence of:
- An appropriate record of scholarship, including scholarly publication in premier peer-refereed journals;
- Sustained effectiveness in teaching, advising, service and other assigned duties.
- Increasing leadership roles in institutional and professional service.
For the Full professor rank, applicants must show evidence of:
- Distinction and sustained effectiveness in teaching, advising, service and other assigned duties, curricular development, awards and recognition;
- Distinction in scholarship, as evidenced in scholarly publication in premier peer-refereed journals, including wide recognition and significant contributions to the field or profession;
- Exemplary institutional and professional service and leadership, and an appropriate balance between the two.
